  1. Role and responsibilities

    Generic responsibilities

    These responsibilities shall be the same for all positions with the same title. The responsibilities shall be short and essential. Details belong in the Work and Professional Development Plan.

  2. Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks, and guidelines.
Assist implementation of the protection portfolio according to plan of action. Implement independently protection case management related activities as delegated. Responsible for organizing and delivery of tasks in line with established procedures, agreed priorities, international standards, and relevant guiding principles. Coordinate and conduct protection monitoring in the designated areas, and report timely about identified concerns and risks that beneficiaries face, in accordance with principles, established tools and mechanisms.ย  Advocate for clients' rights and entitlements, including access to asylum procedures, legal representation, and social services. Develop and maintain knowledge of protection, in order to be most effective in supporting the team. Contribute to program planning, monitoring, and evaluation processes to ensure quality service delivery and impact measurement.ย  Ensure confidentiality and proper filing of relevant documents. Ensure that protection case management database reflect issues faced and raised by all (diverse) community members, as well as are representative of the situation on the ground.ย  Assist by Providing data analysis and contribute in producing reports; as requested.
Prepare required Cash assistance / Referral lists on weekly/Monthly basis. Ensure that data cleaning is done for all lists eliminating/minimizing multiple-counting or other errors. Support the field teams during cash distribution as needed in recording the cash and/or material assistance provided by NRC and ensure a regular analysis of this data. Train NRC Staff in how to use data collection tools and initial need assessments on Kobo.
Support the Protection Team in filling and double-checking all activities data reports.
Prepare/Translate any documents related to the activities implementation when requested. Ensure Confidentiality and Data integrity. Contribute programming ideas to help NRC design protection projects that are realistic and contextually appropriate. Undertake field visits / meetings as requested. Support efforts to mainstream gender sensitivity into NRC Myanmarโ€™s ways of working both internally and in terms of our programming. Any other tasks as identified by management.

Build and maintain trust relationships with target communities. Contribute to the identification and internal referral of individuals/households with specific needs and/or vulnerabilities, with special focus on children, youth, women and other at-risk groups. Conduct comprehensive assessments of individualsโ€™ protection needs, including identifying risks, vulnerabilities, and resources. Develop individualized protection plans in collaboration with clients, taking into account their unique circumstances and preferences. Provide ongoing case management support to clients, including regular monitoring, goal setting, and follow-up sessions. Raise the awareness on key protection related issues among beneficiaries and target communities, as well as key external stakeholders, in close collaboration with concerned CC Teams and specialized actors. If relevant, provide beneficiaries and target communities with information and orientation about existing services and how to access them. Ensure that all data and information pertaining to protection monitoring are handled in strict confidence, and in line with applicable data protection and information sharing protocols. Maintain accurate and confidential case records, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations and organisational standards. Collaborate with other service providers, government agencies, and community-based organisations to ensure coordinated and affective support for clients.

Generic professional competencies:ย 

An understanding of data collection methods and good skills in undertaking thisย  A university degree in computer Sciences/Information Systems/Information Technology or related field.ย  Excellent Excel, Word and Power point skills. Experience from working directly with affected/local communities within an international or local organization in a humanitarian context. Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts. Previous experience in protection and information management related role.ย  Basic knowledge or interest in understanding of international standards, and Protection fundamental concepts and guiding principles. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport with and build trust with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a challenging and fast-paced environment. Empathy, patience, and resilience in dealing with sensitive issues and traumatic experiences.ย  Sufficient working knowledge of English.

Context/ Specific skills, knowledge and experience:ย
