The regional offices (RO) of GIZ in Germany implement projects that focus on cooperation with German and European network partners from politics, administration, economy, and civil society. Among others, the RO support GIZ projects abroad by implementing service packages, which often include exchange formats to share best-practice experience and facilitate policy networks between German and European experts as well as experts and decision-makers from partner countries. The main areas of expertise of the RO south are climate, environment and infrastructure, as well as rural development. For the implementation of service packages in the field of Energy and Climate in Ukraine, the RO south is looking for an experienced project manager. The scope of this position is to provide advice and support for the Energy and Climate Cluster of GIZ Ukraine as well for projects on the energy efficiency Acquis communautaire in the \"Buildings\" and \"Industry\" sectors.
Your tasks
Providing advice, support to and networking activities for the Energy and Climate Cluster of GIZ Ukraine and for projects on the energy efficiency Acquis Communautaire Facilitation of cooperation and exchange formats between Germany/EU and Ukraine to promote the sharing of German experience and in-depth knowledge with Ukrainian partners Networking and high-level communication with political partners in Ukraine e.g. within the Parliament, Cabinet of Ministries, MinRecovery, MinEnergo and others in coordination with the cluster coordinator and respective project team Supporting the cluster in further developing the clusterโs strategy on supporting EU accession of Ukraine as well as identifying innovative intervention areas for green โbuild back betterโ initiatives Establishment of an energy efficiency policy knowledge basis for all projects in the Energy and Climate Cluster Support in communication with partners and donor organizations in close coordination with the cluster coordinator Supporting the cluster coordinator in coordination activities and formats with other implementing organizations on energy efficiency topics in Ukraine Supporting the planning and implementation processes of the energy efficiency reform project (FEER) Advising the FEER project team members on strategic communication activities with clients and partnersYour profile
University degree (Bachelor or Master) in Public Administration, Economics, Environmental and Sustainable Resource Management, or equivalent Several years of project management experience in development cooperation in the field of climate and energy with a focus on energy efficiency in the \"Buildings\" and \"Industry\" sectors in Ukraine Very good understanding of governmental structures, processes, and decision-making at the local, regional, national levels related to the Energy sector as well as reliable contacts to relevant stakeholders in Ministries, state agencies, industry and civil society in Ukraine Very good understanding of the Ukrainian political discourse on Energy policy and Green Recovery of the Energy sector Strong ability to translate the understanding of future development and needs of the Ukrainian energy sectors into the strategy of the GIZ Energy cluster in Ukraine Several years of relevant professional experience, preferably gained in developing countries, is an advantage Good understanding of processes and procedures, particularly in project, finance, and contract management, as well as in the application and reporting formats of GIZ in cooperation with the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety, and Consumer Protection, and the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection Excellent communication and intercultural skills, great team player, high level of flexibility and customer orientation when it comes to applied management methods Business fluent in English, good knowledge of Ukrainian and Russian is required.
