Promoting Local Response Capacities and Partnerships (PLRCap),Founded in 2019, PLRCAP is an initiative founded by the Nigerian INGO Forum (NIF) and is now a part of NORCAP at Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), Nigeria. PLRCAP is a project hosted by the NRC country office on behalf of NORCAP, and forms part of NORCAPโs Lake Chad Localisation Programme.ย
PLRCap accompanies Nigerian local and national civil society organisations in their organisational growth and development.ย PLRCAP builds bridges between the development, humanitarian and private sector expertise to bring bestย practices and practical solutionsย to the daily challenges faced by Nigerian responders through demand-driven, training and mentorship programs and longer-term institutionalย capacityย support to these critical actors.ย

To advance this mission, we are seeking a Project Coordinator (Monitoring and Evaluation) to join our team in Abuja, Nigeria. This role is offered under a NORCAP national contract through NRC Nigeria, reports to the PLRCAP Project Manager, and involves up to 30% travel within Nigeria.
NB. This position is open exclusively to Nigerian citizens holding a valid Nigerian passport.
Role and Responsibilities
We are seeking a dedicated Project Coordinator with specialisation in Monitoring and Evaluation to join our team, supporting the capacity strengthening of non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in Nigeria. In this critical role, you will work closely with the PLRCAP Project Manager and the team to support Nigerian local and national civil society organisations. Specifically, you will support assigned areas of day-to-day project management and lead in the implementation and management of M&E components of PLRCAP projects and activities as well as report writing for donors.ย

The Project Coordinator (Monitoring and Evaluation) will be responsible for leading M&E design, data collection, reporting, and learning to strengthen NGO capacity and ensure program quality. In addition, the role will support day-to-day project implementation, helping to ensure activities are delivered on time and to the highest standards.

As the Project Coordinator (Monitoring and Evaluation), you will take on the following responsibilities:
- Design and implement M&E plans and results frameworks for PLRCAP projects and activities
Qualifications and Experience
The role will require expertise in M&E design and implementation and role-holder will undertake field missions and data collection where required. The ideal candidate will bring a mix of M&E expertise and project implementation as well as strong communication skills, an understanding of NGO operations, and a genuine passion for fostering growth and effective learning within the sector.ย

To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications and skills:
Advanced university degree (Masterโs) in social sciences, information management, development studies, or related field, or equivalent professional experienceMinimum 5 yearsโ experience in M&E design and implementation for donor-funded projects, including report writingAt least 3 yearsโ experience in project management or project support using recognised tools (e.g., Gantt charts, risk management)Strong proficiency in MS Office and survey tools; knowledge of data analysis software is an assetExcellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environmentStrong practical expertise in delivering M&E and learning outputs and outcomes, with an advanced understanding of related concepts and methodologies.Proficiency in MS Office, Google forms, Survey Monkey and other tools for simple surveys as well as knowledge of relevant data management or analysis software.Prior experience as a line manager within a donor-funded project is an asset.Fluency in written and spoken English.Please read the attached Terms of Reference for more details before applyingValues
