ย Context
Established in 1951, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) is the UN's leading agency on migration. It collaborates with key stakeholders โ migrants and Member States โ to promote safe, orderly, and regular migration. IOM provides services and advice to governments, migrants, and other stakeholders to enhance the benefits and opportunities of migration while addressing its challenges. In Viet Nam, since its establishment in 1987, IOM has been responding to evolving migration dynamics through a comprehensive approach to migration management, focusing on migration governance and policies, migrant protection and assistance, labour migration, as well as preparedness and resilience.
Under the overall supervision of the Head of Projects and Partnership and direct supervision of the National Program Officer in IOM Viet Nam, and in coordination with relevant units in the Country Office, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the administrative aspects of project implementation in IOM Viet Nam, particularly in its portfolio under migration governance and collaboration with law enforcement entities.
- โโAssist in the implementation and monitoring of project activities.ย
- Retrieve, compile, summarize, analyse, and present information/data on specific project topics.ย
- โMonitor budget; verify availability of funds; obtain necessary approval and update budget related information.ย
- โAct as focal point for administrative coordination of project implementation, involving extensive liaison with diverse organizational units and external parties to initiate requests, obtain necessary clearances, process and follow-up on administrative actions, etc.ย
- โDraft status reports, identifying shortfalls in delivery, bring them to the attention of the supervisor and suggest remedial actions.ย
- โDraft correspondence on project issues; prepare and update reports, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, presentation and other forms of documentation.ย
- โRespond to complex information requests and inquiries; set up and maintain files/records; organize meetings, workshops and training sessions;ย
- โParticipate in meetings and conferences; assist in coordinating implementation activities with local authorities, partners, United Nation agencies, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, donors and other stakeholders relevant to the project. ย
- โAssist in monitoring work of implementing partners and report non-compliances to the supervisor. ย
- โProvides guidance/training to new/junior staff. ย
- โPerform other related duties as assigned.โย Education
- โโSchool diploma with five years of relevant experience; or, ย
- โBachelorโs degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with three years of relevant professional experience.โย Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database. ย Experience
- โโExperience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations;ย
- โExperience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups; and,ย
- โPrior work experience with international humanitarian or development organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.โย Skills

- Knowledge of UN and bilateral donor programming; andย
