ย Context ย Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission and direct supervision of the National Migration and Development Officer/Head of LM & HD Department, the incumbent will be responsible for assisting in the implementation of activities of Migration and Development. This will include supporting administrative and logistics issues related with capacity building initiatives of various projects, protection of Nepali migrant workers in vulnerable situation, strengthening migration governance through roll out of Global Compact on Migration.
- Provide administrative assistance to meet the timely and efficient deliverables, implementation of the operational, administrative and logistic activities of the Projects.ย ย
- ย Provide administrative and logistic support on IOM Nepalโs Reintegration, Entrepreneurships promotion, Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration programmes to support migrants in vulnerable situation with the guidance from the Head of Migration and Development Department.
- Assist in the administrative and logistic activities for the implementation of capacity-building, consultation, and/or stakeholder coordination activities, including ย carrying out field visits, supporting training workshops or consultation meetings including Migration School for the range of stakeholders including government, civil society organizations, private sector, and other similar activities.ย
- Assist the team on providing general assistance to government in planning for the implementation of the actionable commitments made under Global Compact for Migration.
- Assist the Head of Migration and Development Department to prepare reports on the progress of the projectโs implementation which shall include reporting on the logistics needs and budget flow.ย
- Draft minutes, assist to prepare administrative/financial documents according to IOMโs processes.ย
- Track, compile, and present information on new developments and relevant trends in the field of migration specifically on internal migration, impact of climate change on mobility, private sector partnerships, human rights and development.ย
- Undertake duty travel for project events as required; assist to maintain effective liaison and coordination with local authorities, partners, United Nations agencies, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, donors and other stakeholders relevant to IOM projects.
- Any other duties assigned by the supervisor. Education
- Bachelorโs degree, preferably in Business Administration, Management, Statistics, Social Science, Public Health or a related discipline from an accredited academic institution with minimum two years of relevant professional experience. Or,
- High school degree with four years of relevant work experience. Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database. ย Experience
- Experience in administrative, logistic activities and financial management support, project support and project implementation.
- Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups is an advantage.
- Prior work experience with international humanitarian/development organizations, non-government, or government institutions/organizations, particularly in a multi-cultural setting, is an advantage.
- Previous experience working on issues related to migration, climate change, labour issues, public health, socio-economic development, and/or migrantsโ rights is desirable.
- Excellent computer skills โ Data analysis and design software.
- Ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision. Skills

- Knowledge of MS Office applications.
- Proโactive, result-oriented, organized, and possess good communication skills. Languages
- For this position, fluency in English and Nepali languages is required (oral and written). IOMโs official languages are English, French and Spanish.
