ย Context Under the direct administrative supervision of the Head of Sub Office in Gaziantep and direct supervision of the Senior Protection Coordinator and in close cooperation with IOM Turkiye program teams (integration, social cohesion and refugee response) the incumbent will be responsible for providing support the activities of the Sanliurfa Municipal Center as well as the refugee response program activities of the mission.
1. Meet migrants and refugees at the Municipal Migrant Information and Coordination Center (โthe Centerโ) to refer them to the Centerโs managers, counsellors based on their inquiry,
2. Coordinate the interpretation team to assist the Center staff in providing necessary interpretation services for individual counselling, group informative sessions, trainings as well as PSS and social cohesion activities.
3. Coordinate the interpretation team to accompany the Center staff in their field visits to provide necessary interpretation services,
4. Coordinate the interpretation team to accompany migrants and refugees in their visits to the local public institutions for necessary interpretation services, if required,
5. Provide necessary translation services for informative materials (brochures, posters etc.) and participate meetings, trainings etc. to provide interpretation services,
6. Work closely with other counsellors and ensure smooth coordination among the interpreter team of the Center,
7. Report challenges and progress recorded in realization of duties,
8. Keep and save all project related documents, monthly reports and its supporting documents in file,
9. Coordinate and ensure that project related data regularly and accurately entered to the database system,
10. Ensure effective referal mechanism to the relevant public autorities, IOM, UN agencies, other NGOs, centerโs social service consultant and follow up the referals,
11. Monitor and Evaluate project activities, including monthly data collection in close coordination with the M&E department.
12. Perform other duties as may be assigned.
Education
- University degree in Social Science, Humanitarian Assistance, Development Studies or a related field from an accredited academic institution, with three years of relevant professional experience; or
- Completed High school degree from an accredited academic institution, with five years of relevant professional experience.Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.ย Experience
- Experience in the field of humanitarian assistance and development;
- Good knowledge of International Organizations, UN and NGO mandates and programmes in the area of humanitarian assistance, post-conflict, migration, and development;
- Experience working with Government counterparts, UN agencies and/or non-governmental organizations is considered an asset;
- Experience working in the South East Turkey is an advantage.Languages
