The Position:

Under the overall guidance of the Representative and the Assistant Representative, and the direct supervision of the Programme Coordinator (Head of Office), the Program Associate supports the Nampula programme team. S/he works in close collaboration with the Programme team in Maputo and in the field offices with the Operations Unit in the Country Office to ensure effective and efficient programme implementation of the country programme.ย ย

Job Purpose:

The Programme Associate provides programmatic and administrative support to the development and implementation of UNFPAโ€™s Country Programme, and is instrumental in facilitating programme/project implementation by using appropriate mechanisms and systems, and ensuring compliance with established rules, policies and procedures.ย  The Programme Associate also undertakes assigned research tasks, and provides financial management and operational and procedural guidance to Implementing Partners. Additionally, he/she will contribute to deliveryย quality services in procurement and logistics and support the sub-office as well as implementing partners in compliance with all relevant rules, guidelines, processes and procedures.ย  S/he takes a client-oriented results-focused approach to interpreting the rules, procedures and guidelines, providing support to the CO and UNFPA-supported projects.ย
