Organizational Context and Scope
Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission (CoM) in Guatemala city and direct supervision of the Program Support Unit Coordinator, and in collaboration with relevant units at the Regional Office and Headquarters as well as with the different project managers, the Program Support Officer will provide necessary technical, administrative and process related support to the mission in the areas of reporting, information management, and project development.ย
Draft portions of project proposals and concept notes based on instructions and/or guidance regarding donor priorities and strategies, government needs and the Organizationโs mandate and global and regional strategies.Provide technical information and inputs to support Project Managers in the development, compilation and timely submission of donor reports, as well as other mission-specific reports, checking accuracy and compliance with donor and organizational requirements and providing recommendations accordingly.Maintain a clear information Management System on project development and reporting and other relevant tasks and work with relevant project managers to help ensure deadlines are met.Support the development and implementation of project related information and knowledge management processes for the mission by providing technical guidance and support for data collection, consolidation, analysis, creation of dashboards and production of other Information Management products.ย Research and document gaps on knowledge and information relevant to the missionโs strategic priorities and contribute to reviewing, drafting and editing knowledge products (including research, evaluation reports, policy documents, country strategy documents and others).Participate in and provide support for project and program-related meetings and conferences at both national and local levels.Provide technical inputs and information to support the preparation of responses to ad-hoc strategic or policy requests from RO, HQ or other departments.Provide technical support in analysing migration related trends and issues in view of strategic, programmatic and program-specific funding opportunities.Support and/or provide recommendations for the implementation and contextualization of the Organizationโs Strategic Results Framework (SRS) at mission-level and check project M&E compliance to the global and regional-level SRS.Provide administrative and logistical support for the preparation and organization of donorโs missions, conference, meetings, trainings and other events, and assist with liaison activities (such as drafting documents) with donors, government partners and other counterparts.Ensure that projects are accurately reflected in PRIMA at all stages of the project cycle.Provide overview from PRIMA dashboards on state of the missionโs projects.Perform such other duties as may be assigned.ยRequired Qualifications and Experience
Education
Masterโs degree in Social Science, International Relations, Development Studies, Political Science, Law, Human Rights or a related field from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience; or,University degree in the above fields with four years of relevant professional experience.Experience
Experience working in the development and humanitarian fields, with specific experience working in the development, migration or humanitarian fields highly desirable;Previous experience working in project development in developing countries an advantage, and in Latin America with governmental or international organizations advantageous;Experience working with Government counterparts, UN agencies and/or non-governmental organizations is considered an asset; and,Experience working in the region and understanding of the regional migration context.Skills
In depth knowledge of the broad range of migration related subject areas dealt with by the Organization (and in particular labor migration, migration governance, emergency preparedness and response);Knowledge of UN and bilateral donor programming;Excellent writing, drafting, editing and reporting skills;Demonstrated capacity in project reporting and project development for various donors; and,Data analysis skills an advantage.Languages

For this position, fluency in English and Spanish is required (oral and written). Working knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, and Russia) is an advantage.
