FHI 360โs Global Connections (GC) department is a leader in designing innovative international exchanges that promote leadership, professional development, academic opportunities and global collaboration for students and emerging leaders around the world. The English Access Program (Access) builds English language capacity globally, delivering U.S. English education expertise, to strengthen mutual understanding, support key economic sector workforce development and create economic and educational opportunity. Approximately 200,000 youth and 7,500 teachers in more than 85 countries have gained English language skills since Accessโ start in 2004. Through classroom instruction and activities, teacher training and short-term exchanges in the United States and a vibrant online English language community, Access participants are better prepared to thrive in their home countries, with a deeper understanding of and stronger connections to Americans and the United States.
Job Summary:
The Program Officer II is a member of the Access Teacher Engagement Team reporting to the Project Manager and supports U.S.-based exchange programs. This position also provides opportunities for cross-team collaboration and support with other sub-teams on the Access Program. Please note, we anticipate being able to fund this position for a year, and future employment will be contingent on continued funding.
Responsibilities:
Support the planning and implementation of international exchange programs with participant support, partner relationships, and client requests.
Engage in regular communication with key stakeholders including U.S. Embassies and U.S. partner organizations for exchanges.
Manage exchange participant nomination and application process.
Support partner recruitment and selection process with application review.
Review exchange design and activities to ensure alignment with program requirements and provide feedback to partner organizations.
Manage exchange participant communication before, during and after the exchange and troubleshoot issues with exchange preparation and participation.
Travel to program locations to accompany exchange participants and provide on-site programmatic and logistical support.
Monitor program activities and participant engagement during exchange implementation.
Document exchange highlights, challenges, and lessons learned to be shared internally and externally through reports and presentations
Develop and update program materials for exchanges such as guides, templates, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Support the administrative, operational, and logistical aspects of exchange programming.
Support travel arrangements for exchange participants including flights, hotels, and ground transportation.
Contribute to new business development with technical inputs to proposal development.
Represent FHI 360 to external audiences as requested.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelorโs Degree or its international equivalent in Education, Communication, Technology, or related field. Project management certification preferred.
Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in a non-governmental organization (NGO), government agency, or private organization.
Experience with exchange programs preferred.
Experience with program development and management.
Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, to think strategically and creatively, to find innovative ways to respond to emerging organizational and project needs.
Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills
Strong communication skills with the ability to connect to a wide range of partners in a clear, positive manner; ability to understand, synthesize, and conceptualize input and requests from multiple collaborators.
Demonstrated ability to work in coordination with colleagues, program participants, and partners.
Capacity to balance multiple priorities, deal with inquiries and requests, and maintain close attention to detail.
Capability to work independently as well as in a team environment by taking initiative, meeting deadlines, solving problems, and adapting to changing priorities.
Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English.
Strong computer productivity skills including use of databases, word processing software, Microsoft Excel, and SharePoint.

Requires regular domestic travel, up to eight weeks per year.
The expected US Based hiring salary range for this role is listed below. Candidates FHI 360 pay ranges represent national averages that vary by geographic location. When determining an offer amount, FHI 360 factors in multiple considerations, including but not limited to: relevant years of experience and education possessed by the applicant, internal equity, business sector, and budget.
Base salary is only one component of our offer. FHI 360 contributes 7% of monthly base pay to a money purchase pension plan account. Additionally, all US based staff working full-time, which is calculated at 40 hours/week, receive 18 days of paid vacation per year, 12 sick days per year, and 11 holidays per year. Paid time off is reduced pro rata for employees working less than a full-time schedule.
US Based Hiring Salary Range: USD $64,000 - $76,000 annual
International hiring ranges will differ based on location.
