ContextWe are seeking an Online Volunteer, who under the guidance of the Communication Officer, assist in producing an animated video for a critical public health campaign aimed at raising awareness about leprosy and combating the stigma and discrimination surrounding the disease in Mozambique. This is a valuable opportunity to contribute to an important health initiative, creating educational content that informs, empowers, and reduces stigma around leprosy in Mozambique. Your work will directly impact the lives of people in the Nampula Province and help foster greater understanding and compassion.
Task DescriptionThe primary responsibility of the Online Volunteer will be to create an engaging and educational animated video. The video could be produced in either 2D animation or a \"Draw My Life\" style, depending on the Volunteerโs skills and preferences. The animation should clearly explain how leprosy is transmitted, how to recognize the symptoms, and the importance of seeking treatment early. The main message should emphasize that leprosy is a treatable disease, and that treatment is free of charge in Mozambique, which is vital information for the target audiences. Specifically, the tasks include: Animated Video: A short, informative video that presents the symptoms of leprosy, how it spreads, and how to seek treatment. Language and Accessibility: The video should be created in Portuguese with English subtitles, which will be provided by WHO. This ensures accessibility for both local and international audiences. Target Audience: The video will be shown in four schools across the Nampula Province, specifically targeting children and their parents. It will also be shared on WHOโs social media platforms and through the networks of partners and donors. The video will need to be produced and finalise by end February 2025. Additional Information: The script and main messages for the video will be discussed in collaboration with the WHO team, ensuring that the content aligns with public health objectives and is culturally appropriate. This video will play a crucial role in educating the local community, reducing the stigma around leprosy, and encouraging early diagnosis and treatment.
