Project Context and Scope
In 2022 IOM started implementation of the regional โLabour Migration Programme โ Central Asiaโ funded by the Swiss Development and Cooperation Agency (SDC) with an overall goal to contribute to enhancing labour migration governance to better respond to employer and labour market needs while ensuring protection of migrant workers and enhancing development impacts in both countries of origin and destination. The projectโs main target groups are the prospective migrant workers, migrant workers and their families, returning migrant workers, government agencies responsible for migration management, international labour recruitment, private recruitment agencies, private secto/employers, vocational education and training institutions, financial institutions engaged in remittance transfer services and remittance recipients.
The hired photographer/videographer will capture high resolution images of moments in action during IOMโs SDC project and other IOMโs different projects activities (50 pictures and three videos per month).ย
Organizational Department / Unit to which the Consultant is contributing
ย Labour Mobility, Policy and Data Unit, in the framework of โLabour Migration Programme in Central Asiaโ (Phase 1) funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation SDC: LM0479.KG10.X:1:3:001. Tasks to be performed under this contract
The consultant is hired to deliver the tasks on a monthly payment basis. The tasks will likely include, but are not limited to the following:
- Attend the required activities IOMโs SDC project and other IOMโs different projects to take photos and videos;
- Produce at least 50 quality photographs and 3 videos and reels per month.
- Images should be delivered in electronic format (.jpg, .png, .tiff, etc.). Digital images should be taken at a minimum 1800 high-resolution, be at least 300 dpi, and approximately 2500 x 1600 pixels each. Photograph size can vary from 4x6 to 5x7. The size of each photo: max 3 MB;
- The video should be about three minutes long.
The Photographer/Videographer shall coordinate well in advance the activities to be attended with the Programme Coordinator and the Media and Communications Specialist. Performance indicators for the evaluation of results

Education, Experience and/or skills required
- At least 3 years progressive experience as a photographer and prior experience on taking photographs in undertaking similar work of projects/activities;
- At least a high school certificate but possession of a degree or diploma or training in photo journalism will be an added advantage;
- Must use own photography equipment capable of delivering high resolution jpeg or raw files (300 dpi at 2610 x 3900 pixels);
- Must have the technical equipment needed for the shooting and editing including cameras, etc.;
- Provide adequate lightening systems including camera light as well as any additional light equipment deemed necessary;
- Should be able to take over the shooting of relevant photographs;
- Should give creative input to the photo shooting overall;
- Must guarantee timely delivery of photographs;
- Ability to work under limited timing would be an asset;
- Fluency in Kyrgyz and Russian; fluency in English is an advantage. IOMโs official languages are English, French and Spanish. Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments. ย Travel required
