Introduction
The Green Climate Fund is the worldโ€™s largest dedicated multilateral climate fund and invests in impactful, innovative, catalytic programs and projects in developing countries across the globe. The GCF has a portfolio of 286 projects across 133 countries, with a total commitment of USD 15.9 billion to date.

About the Green Climate Fund (GCF)
Set up in 2010 by the 194 countries who are Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), GCF takes its responsibility as the worldโ€™s largest dedicated multilateral climate fund to heart. Internship Assignment

The Intern will provide operational and administrative support to the Department of Partnerships and Resource Mobilizationโ€‹ (DPRM). S/he will have the opportunity to learn and expand her/his experiences by providing assistance in the โ€‹Fundโ€™s overall external affairs functions, especially in the area of resource mobilization, for (1) engagements with and outreach to GCFโ€™s existing and potential contributor countries, (2) preparations and supporting executive missions and global/regional events that DPRM will engage in, and (3) research, analysis, and data management for DPRM resource mobilization activities. The intern is expected to assist with other tasks as needed.โ€‹

Under the overall guidance of the designated primary and alternate supervisors within the โ€‹Department of Partnerships and Resource Mobilizationโ€‹, the Intern is expected to:

  • Provide general administrative support to the Director and DPRM;
  • Draft, edit, and support the creation of clear, accessible information about GCFโ€™s activities, and GCF-wide tools such as presentations and briefing notes;
  • Support DPRM`s organisational tasks and activities, and in relation to external and internal events;
  • Support with the preparation of mission briefing material for external engagements;
  • Support the drafting of official correspondence, letters, etc.;
  • Support with contributing and editing inputs into the Fundโ€™s constituent relationship management tool (CRM) related to DPRM managed engagements;
  • Support with the planning, preparation and coordination of high-level, external engagements; and
  • Support with conducting desk research and analyses related to contributor countries and innovative resource mobilization activities.

    Requirements and qualifications

    • Currently enrolled in or recently completed a Masterโ€™s or PhD program in โ€‹business, finance, climate change, sustainabilityโ€‹ or related fields;
    • Knowledge and experience with โ€‹investments, financial institutions and/or climate change issues.โ€‹
    • Good understanding and experience in operations of international organization is an added advantage;
    • Proficiency in using standard software programs: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook. Experience with project management tools (e.g., Asana) and with Microsoft Dynamics is an added advantage;
    • Excellent writing and presentation skills;
    • Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of another United Nations language, in particular French and Spanish, and/or Portuguese is an advantage.
