Mission and objectivesUNFPA is the United Nations sexual and reproductive health agency. ContextGuided by the 1994 Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) partners with governments, civil society and other agencies to accomplish its mission, which aims to promote the rights of every woman, man and child to enjoy a life of health and equal opportunity and supports countries in using data for policies and programmes to reduce poverty and to ensure that every pregnancy is wanted, every childbirth is safe, and every young personโ€™s potential is fulfilled. The Resource Mobilization and Partnerships Officer position will be based in the UNFPA regional office in Bangkok, Thailand. Reporting to the Regional Advisor on Resource Mobilization and Partnerships, the position is expected to contribute towards the efforts of the regional office to diversify its partner base and support country offices in the region with the implementation of their partnership plans.

Task DescriptionWithin the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Regional RM and Partnerships Advisor, the UN Volunteer will: ๏‚ท Support the development and implementation of the annual Resource Mobilization and partnerships workplan ๏‚ท Review donor agreements and reports for quality assurance and compliance with corporate requirements ๏‚ท Provide support to country offices on their engagement with private sector partners, including but not limited to; pre-screening and due diligence of new partners, advice on agreement modality and liaison with HQ where required. ๏‚ท Support the regional advisor on delivering trainings and webinars to country offices. ๏‚ท Share resource mobilization opportunities with country offices and where required, provide guidance and support with pursuing these opportunities in line with corporate guidelines ๏‚ท Familiarize yourself with key donor priorities, processes and procedures as well UNFPA rules and regulations related to co-financing agreements and ensure compliance with these through effective oversight of all new/pipeline donor agreements at the regional and country levels. ๏‚ท Help establish and maintain close working relationships with representatives of the media, partners and donors; ๏‚ท Participate in planning events and donor, partner and Ambassador-level visits, including preparing information materials and supporting necessary logistic arrangements. Furthermore, UN Volunteers are encouraged to integrate the UN Volunteers programme mandate within their assignment and promote voluntary action through engagement with communities in the course of their work. As such, UN Volunteers should dedicate a part of their working time to some of the following suggested activities: ๏‚ท Strengthen their knowledge and understanding of the concept of volunteerism by reading relevant UNV and external publications and take active part in UNV activities (for instance in events that mark International Volunteer Day); ๏‚ท Be acquainted with and build on traditional and/or local forms of volunteerism in the host country; ๏‚ท Provide annual and end of assignment self- reports on UN Volunteer actions, results and opportunities. ๏‚ท Contribute articles/write-ups on field experiences and submit them for UNV publications/websites, newsletters, press releases, etc.; ๏‚ท Assist with the UNV Buddy Programme for newly-arrived UN Volunteers; ๏‚ท Promote or advise local groups in the use of online volunteering, or encourage relevant local individuals and organizations to use the UNV Online Volunteering service whenever technically possible. Results/expected outputs: ๏‚ท As an active UNFPA Asia-Pacific Regional Office team member, efficient, timely, responsive, client-friendly and high-quality support rendered to country offices in the accomplishment of her/his functions, including: ๏‚ท An up-to-date regional funding pipeline ๏‚ท A diversified portfolio of partnerships ๏‚ท Corporate compliant external partner agreements ๏‚ท Enhanced coordination with Country Offices, Head Quarter and liaison offices ๏‚ท A final statement of achievements towards volunteerism for peace and development during the assignment, such as reporting on the number of volunteers mobilized, activities participated in and capacities developed

Living conditions and remarksThe duty station will be Bangkok, Thailand. Bangkok is a highly developed modern city with excellent accommodation that includes single house, apartments etc. The cost of living in Bangkok perhaps compared to some of the other capital cities in Asia is relatively high but still low compared to the Europe and North America. Health facilities and services are among the best in Asia and often many people from various countries visit Bangkok for seeking medical services. Travel to and from Bangkok is easy as there are many daily flights connecting Bangkok with major cities in the world.
