Work LocationBogota Expected durationAs soon as possible to 31/12/2025 Duties and ResponsibilitiesWithin the limits of delegated authority, the Movement Control Assistant will be responsible for performing the following duties: โข Receives and registers cargo movement requests for air/ground transportation. โข Receives supplies from different sections, arranges for transportation and follows up from delivery to destination. โข Coordinates transportation of cargo by air and/or road with Air Operations and Transport Section respectively. โข Ensures proper and safe storage of inbound and outbound cargo. โข Ensures proper packing and marking of cargo items, including dangerous goods. โข Provides technical advice and guidance to personnel involved in cargo movements. โข Compiles and maintains cargo statistics related to air/ground movements. โข Prepares cargo manifest and ensures its distribution to all concerned parties. โข Facilitates embarking/disembarking of passengers at the airport, and loading/unloading of cargo. โข Ensure that the loading of the aircraft is conducted in accordance with the published daily schedule and cargo manifest. โข Checks in passengers against passenger manifest, issues boarding passes and organizes passengers transfer for aircraft boarding. โข Perform pre-boarding briefing for passengers and monitor the safety briefing performed by the air crew. โข Ensures that passengersโ baggage is weighted, measured, labeled, manifested, and loaded into the aircraft. โข Ensures established procedures are in place and aviation safety regulations are followed. โข Performs the flight monitorโs duties or other duties as and when required. โข Ensure that dangerous goods are transported in accordance with applicable international Dangerous Goods Regulations. โข Prepare operational reports and related statistical data. โข Provide assistance to travel, procurement and logistics Units/ Sections. โข Perform other duties as required. Qualifications/special skillsHigh school diploma or equivalent is required. A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in movement control, aviation and airline operations, multi-modal transportation, logistics management or a related field is required. The minimum years of relevant experience is reduced to three (3) for candidates who possess a first level university degree or higher. Experience in using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems is required. Experience in establishing Scope of Work (SOW), technical evaluations for third party contacts and associated knowledge of Low Value Acquisition (LVA), Purchase Orders (PO) and invoicing procedures is desirable. Experience in UN common system or international organisation is desirable. Certification in International Air Transport Association (IATA) or International Maritime Organization (IMO) rules and procedures for transporting dangerous goods is desirable.
