Contex

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Liberia supports the Government of Liberia in strengthening migration governance, advancing peacebuilding, promoting diaspora engagement, and fostering resilience in communities affected by migration. In line with national priorities, IOM implements programmes on voluntary return and reintegration (AVRR), counter-trafficking, community stabilization, border management, diaspora engagement, and cross-border peacebuilding.

Within this framework, robust monitoring and evaluation (M&E) is essential to track results, assess impact, and ensure accountability to beneficiaries, government counterparts, donors, and partners. Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission, and the direct supervision of the Programme Support Officer, and in close collaboration with the Regional M&E Officer, the M&E Assistant (Project Support) will provide administrative and logistical support for the implementation, monitoring, and reporting of IOM projects, with a focus on voluntary assisted returnees, diaspora engagement, and cross-border peacebuilding activities.

  1. Assist in the implementation and monitoring of project activities, and follow up on administrative tasks, in line with IOM standards and donor requirements.
  2. Support project budget monitoring by verifying availability of funds, obtaining necessary approvals and updating budget-related information.
  3. Support administrative coordination of project implementation, including liaison with internal units and external parties to initiate requests, obtain necessary clearances, process and follow-up on administrative actions, etc
  4. Support the organization and logistics of field monitoring visits and assist in gathering basic feedback from beneficiaries and communities, under supervision.
  5. Assist in compiling simple desk and/or field information based on findings and recommendations provided by supervisor.
  6. Support the collection and recording of information from beneficiaries, communities, and implementing partners, for reporting purposes.
  7. Maintain project files, databases, and records to support documentation of activities, beneficiaries.
  8. Assist in preparing project documentation, including drafting status reports and compiling information for progress updates and M&E summaries records, under supervision.
  9. Provide logistical and administrative support for meetings, workshops, training sessions, and field visits, including donors or stakeholders visits as instructed.
  10. Draft correspondence, briefing notes, statistical tables, presentations, and other documentation related to project implementation and M&E.
  11. Respond to general information requests and support visibility and knowledge-sharing activities, under supervision.
  12. Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
