Supervisor: The incumbent is responsible to Senior Medical Laboratory Technologist or Head Health Centre (B) or Deputy Head Health Centre (A) (as applicable) and receives technical supervision from the Field Laboratory Services Officer. Responsibilities1. Performs the full range of laboratory services including biochemistry, hematology, serology, routine (urine and stool examination) and bacteriology: 2. Ensures accuracy and completeness of laboratory information in the computerized health information system (e-Health); 3. Maintains laboratory equipment, supplies and reagents; 4. At Health Centres without Senior Medical Laboratory Technologist and Medical Laboratory Technologist: a. prepares estimates of requirements for replenishment of consumable supplies b. prepares the monthly and annual laboratory statistical report; c. Reviews and analyzes quality control results (internal and external) and makes the necessary intervention 5. Performs such other duties as may be required. EducationRequired academic qualifications: - Completion of a full secondary education. - Completion of a two-year diploma from an accredited educational institution in medical laboratory technician or any other related discipline. Work ExperienceAt least two years’ experience in providing medical laboratory services is required. Experience in the use of computers and an understanding of their use in health applications is required. Indicate your current involvement in any outside activities, as it is required.
