To provide maintenance and repair works of equipment and machinery across all five processing facilities and other locations as may be required by WFP. At times, support to WFP fleet, generators and office/warehouse infrastructure may be required. The position will report to the Sub-Office Management Services (MS) Associate under the Head of Sub-Office, with technical guidance from the Country Office Nutrition and MS Unit.
ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support procurement, installation and training on use of equipment for new/existing Nyam Nyam Pap processing facilities.
- Responsible for efficient routine and ad hoc maintenance and repair of Nyam Nyam Pap processing facilitiesโ equipment, following manufacturerโs standards and in compliance with established schedules and WFP safety procedures.
- Perform regular checks of equipment to assess mechanical conditions and fitness using diagnostic techniques and make cost-efficient recommendations, to ensure compliance with safety procedures and technical standards.
- Prepare and submit the schedule of equipment/machineries for preventive and comprehensive maintenance
- Recover and repair broken down equipment using appropriate techniques to minimize the risk of additional damage and accidents to support safe operations.
- Report accurately and timely on the mechanical works carried out including any workmanship failure that may occur during repairs, to enable efficient and informed planning and decision-making.
- Keep in a good order and maintain inventory lists of all repair tools and equipment to support a safe, healthy and clean working environment.
- Provide support for maintenance and repair of WFP vehicles and other equipment.
- Other as required.

- New and replacement machinery installed and operational at processing facilities according to manufacturing standards and facility design.
- Support visits and trainings at processing facilities conducted and documented.
- Schedule of equipment/machinery maintenance prepared and achieved.
- Processing facilitiesโ equipment regularly maintained and in good working order.
- Breakdowns and mechanical issues reported timely to project manager and solutions identified.
DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT:

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Education:
Completion of secondary school education, supplemented by a vocational training programme in machine service technology or relevant mechanical/technical training.
Experience:
Four or more years of progressively responsible experience in maintenance and repair of various types of equipment including factory machinery and solar.
Knowledge & Skills:
Physically fit and able to handle heavy items.
Knowledge and ability to read technical manuals and follow instructions/technical guidance required to maintain and repair means of transport/equipment.
Ability to identify mechanical/electronic faults and provide efficient repair services.
Ability to multi-task and meet job requirements.
Ability to maintain accurate and precise records.
Languages:
Fluency in oral and written English.
