Mission and objectivesThe United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) works to ensure the rights and well-being of marginalized populations, particularly women, girls, and persons with disabilities. Guided by the principle of leaving no one behind, UNFPA promotes disability-inclusive development to empower persons with disabilities and enhance their access to sexual and reproductive health services, education, and opportunities for meaningful participation in society. This initiative aligns with UNFPA’s mandate to advance inclusive policies and partnerships by developing a detailed map of Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs), charities, and entities with expertise in disability inclusion, as well as identifying funding opportunities. This mapping will help UNFPA strengthen partnerships and mobilize resources to enhance disability-inclusive programming.
ContextPersons with disabilities, particularly women and girls, face multiple barriers to accessing sexual and reproductive health services and achieving full societal participation. UNFPA recognizes the critical role of partnerships with OPDs, charities, and other stakeholders in advancing disability inclusion. This mapping exercise will provide UNFPA and its partners with a comprehensive overview of key stakeholders and funding opportunities, fostering collaboration, enhancing programme design, and ensuring greater inclusivity in UNFPA’s work across the Asia Pacific region. To that end, we are seeking to collaborate with two Online Volunteers to support us in developing a comprehensive map of Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs), charities, and entities with expertise in disability inclusion, as well as funding opportunities for disability-focused initiatives.
Task DescriptionWe are looking for two Online Volunteers who, under the supervision of the innovation specialist, will contribute to the following tasks: Stakeholder Mapping: - Identify OPDs operating at local, national, and regional levels, including their focus areas, geographic coverage, and key projects. - Identify charities, academic institutions, and entities with expertise in disability inclusion. - Verify and compile contact details and organizational profiles. Funding Opportunities Research: - Identify donors, funding programmes, and grants dedicated to disability inclusion. - Document funding criteria, timelines, and application processes. Data Compilation and Presentation: - Organize findings into an accessible and user-friendly format (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets). - Develop a concise summary report, highlighting key findings, opportunities, and recommendations. - Prepare a presentation to share the results with UNFPA teams and partners.
