Your responsibilities

Within the Beams department (BE) the Controls Electronics and Mechatronics (CEM) group is responsible for the research, development and operations of a fleet of robotics systems used for inspection, maintenance and repair tasks.
Such systems require complex systems engineering to ensure their operation readiness, including aspects from motor configuration, electrical connections, battery status, network configuration, onboard computers, onboard software and the user interface.

This position is primarily aimed at robotics operational support, networking and user interfaces.

Specifically, you will:

Learn and understand the main components of the mobile robotics fleet; Check their readiness and support interventions;Run the mission software and manage ongoing upgrades;Support the development of the user interface (Unity software) with iterative updates based on lessons learned from the interventions.

Your profile

Skills and/or knowledge

Knowledge of C#, C++;Knowledge of robotics systems engineering (hardware and electrical)Fluent in English, the ability to work in French would be an advantage.

Eligibility criteria:

You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.By the application deadline, you have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Robotic and Computing Engineer (or a related field) and your highest educational qualification is either a Bachelor's or Master's degree.You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.Applicants without University degree are not eligible.Applicants with a PhD are not eligible.
