Work LocationGeneva, Switzerland Expected durationStart Date: 16 February 2026 (ASAP) 3-6 Months Duties and ResponsibilitiesUnder the supervision of a project manager, the intern will: โข Support the planning and delivery of IT projects. โข Facilitate workshops and consultations with internal and external stakeholders to define requirements for IT solutions. โข Contribute to portfolio management by maintaining accurate documentation. โข Act as a liaison for internal clients, ensuring that IMTSโ efforts align with operational needs. โข Support the Chief of Section with any other related duties, as required. Expected Results / Ultimate Outcome of Service The internโs work will directly support OHCHRโs Organizational Effectiveness Action Plans. By the end of the internship, the intern will have: โข Developed governance, planning and requirement documentation for IT projects. โข Ensured project milestones and deliverables are met and align with business needs. โข Produced actionable insights on project progress to inform leadership decisions. โข Strengthened OHCHRโs ability to manage initiatives with agility, ensuring resources maximize human rights outcomes. Output/Work Assignments A final report of the task performed is expected at the end of the period. Qualifications/special skillsTo qualify for the United Nations Secretariat internship programme applicants must, at the time of their submission, be enrolled in the final academic year of a first-level university degree programme programme (i.e. Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree); be enrolled in a graduate school programme (i.e. Master's degree or equivalent degree, or higher) or have completed an aforementioned academic degree, preferably in the area of international relations, busiiness and/or information Management, and, if selected, must commence the internship on the date indicated in the Acceptance letter. For this internship, fluency in English is required, working knowledge of another UN language is desirable Additional InformationOther Qualifications and Requirements โข Be pursuing or have recently completed a degree in Political Science, International Relations, Business Administration, Management or a related field. โข Be interested in project-based work, management consulting, or organizational development; demonstrated experience in project management and/or project-based ways of working, especially in the context of software development, is a plus. โข Possess strong analytical and communication skills to turn complex challenges into actionable solutions. โข Be proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for reporting and presentations, and adaptable to new tools. โข Thrive in a multicultural, mission-driven environment with a collaborative mindset.
