  2. Gain practical experience with the ILO directly related to your field of study.

    Please note that you:

    • Are requested to apply to a maximum of three internship profiles, otherwise you will be automatically disqualified.

    • Are able to withdraw your application at any time via the Jobs Applied section of your profile.

    • Should not expect employment at the end of the internship.
    • Must apply before the deadline. Late applications will not be considered.

      The ILO values diversity:

We welcome applications from qualified candidates, including from persons with disabilities and those from non- or under- represented member States.

If needed, reasonable accommodation will be provided to candidates with disabilities in the recruitment phase as well as during the internship to promote equality of opportunities. If you are unable to complete your online application form due to a disability, please send an email to internship@ilo.org.

If you are a national of a non- or under-represented member State, who is pursuing or has completed their studies in their home country, you may be eligible to have your travel costs covered by the ILO to Geneva, Switzerland.

      IMPORTANT:

You can only apply for an internship if you:

      1. Have no close relative serving in the ILO (mother, father, brother, sister).
      2. Have not already undertaken an internship at the ILO.
      3. Are enrolled in a Masterโ€™s or a Doctorate Programme, or have completed such a programme in the year preceding the application.

        Department(s)

The ILO has been responding to conflicts and disasters since its foundation in 1919 to promote stability and social justice through decent work for all, a commitment which was reaffirmed with the adoption of the ILOโ€™s Recommendation No. 205 on employment and decent work for peace and resilience in 2017. As one of four priority action programmes introduced by the Director General, AP/CRISIS aims to reinforce โ€“ among others โ€“ the ILOโ€™s role across the Humanitarian, Development and Peace Nexus (HDPN).

AP/CRISIS promotes the ILOโ€™s decent work agenda in countries and areas affected by conflict and disasters with a view to consolidating peace, building resilience, enhancing social justice and promoting employment recovery in fragile situations and in the aftermath of crisis.

To this end the Action Programme responsibilities include, among others,
        - Disseminating and supporting the implementation of the ILO Recommendation 205 on Employment and Decent Work for Peace and Resilience
        - Coordinating crisis responses in conflict and disaster settings
        - Building capacities of ILO and constituents on the role of decent work in the Humanitarian, Development and Peace Nexus (HDPN)
        - Develop knowledge and gathering and sharing lessons learned on what works in supporting peace and resilience through employment and decent work

        Learning areas

Under the supervision of Nexus Chief Technical Adviser dealing with the Humanitarian, Development and Peace Nexus, the intern will support AP/CRISIS work in reinforcing ILOโ€™s capacities to work across the HDPN, including through the implementation of the ILO Recommendation No. 205 โ€œEmployment and Decent Work for Peace and Resilienceโ€.

More specifically, the intern will engage in the following areas:

        1) Awareness raising, communication and international events
