Tätigkeitsbereich
GIZ implements the regional project “Employment Promotion of Women for the Green Transformation in Africa” (WE4D) in Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, South Africa, Tanzania and Uganda on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic cooperation and Development (BMZ). Boosting employment opportunities, gender equality and green transformation are central elements of the project. As a multi-donor initiative, WE4D is also commissioned by the European Union (EU) through the Team Europe Initiative (TEI) Investing in Young Businesses in Africa (IYBA) to manage the implementation of “Women Entrepreneurship for Africa” (WE4A).
The IYBA WE4A component aims to increase the economic empowerment and financial inclusion of women entrepreneurs contributing to the green transformation. The component’s main activities seek to enhance business capacities, improve access to financial services and strengthen the offer of business development services by local and regional entrepreneurial ecosystems. It is implemented across eight countries in sub-Saharan Africa: Cameroon, Malawi, Togo, Kenya, Mozambique, Senegal, Tanzania, and Uganda.
Ihre Aufgaben
Conduct literature and internet research to inform methodological approaches Support project monitoring and evaluation (M&E) processes, e.g. set up and update of digital tools, development of questionnaires, data analysis, etc. Support colleagues and project partners on the day-to-day implementation of project tasks Support communication, knowledge management and information sharing formats and processes, including drafting, editing and translation of project documents and communication materials (English/French/Portuguese) Support the preparation, organization and documentation of team workshops, steering committee meetings, technical events, etc. Assist in processing inquiries and requests by the team at large, other projects, funding partners and external stakeholdersIhr Profil
You have completed a bachelor’s degree in a field relevant to the project, e.g. Business Administration, Economics/Finance, Social Sciences, etc. You have basic knowledge and a deep interest in (German) development cooperation You have gained initial experience abroad, ideally in sub-Saharan Africa, and/or in the fields of entrepreneurship promotion, women empowerment, green transformation You have very good knowledge of IT tools such as MS Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) You have excellent oral and written communication skills in English and good knowledge of German; knowledge of French and Portuguese is an advantage You are willing and able to quickly familiarize yourself with new complex topics and processes You are a team player, driven and flexible.
