Job description

To enhance and deepen the dialogue about relevant energy issues, the German Chancellor and the Indian Prime Minister established the Indo-German Energy Forum (IGEF) in 2006. The project, implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and the Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW), aims at initiating strategic cooperation projects between the German and Indian government, institutions and the private sector and contributing to the global energy transition.

One innovative concept towards achieving India’s target for renewable energy is Agriphotovoltaics. GIZ supports the development of enabling policies, promotion of research and knowledge management as well as implementation of pilot projects and capacity building activities for Agriphotovoltaics in India. The AgriPV project is part of a develoPPP programme. With develoPPP, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) promotes private-sector activities where entrepreneurial opportunities and development policy potential meet.

Your tasks

As an intern you will support the team across its activities in various fields. Generally, tasks include:

Communication with project partners in India and Germany. Assisting in implementing project activities by conducting background research and providing inputs to reports, briefings and background papers. Supporting in the implementation of research projects with external partners (including development of Terms of Reference). Project management in research projects. Support in dissemination of information, including contribution to the newsletter, drafting news items and press releases for events and activities, as well as updating the website. Assist in planning and organizing events.

Your profile

Master (or equivalent) in engineering, environmental sciences, economics, political science or related areas; (graduation should not have been completed more than six months ago) Perfect command of German and English language Strong communication skills and ability to work in an intercultural organisation Strong research, writing and organisational skills Good MS-Office skills Knowledge about solar and agricultural topics, especially Agriphotovoltaics, is preferred First long-term experience in GIZ partner countries is an advantage Professional experience related to energy or project management is preferred

We pay a monthly stipend of €2.134,52 (gross). Depending on the country of assignment a monthly expatriation allowance (gross), predetermined by GIZ will be paid on top.
