DTM Unit Overview
The DTM-Reporting Intern will play an integral role in supporting the DTM Reporting unit. This internship opportunity offers hands-on experience in assisting with different phases of the assessment design data analysis and reporting process.
The purpose of this role is to provide the intern with exposure to DTM data analysis and reporting process including using different software and applications while ensuring that the reporting team benefits from additional support in conducting daily tasks. This mutually beneficial arrangement allows the intern to gain practical experience and the organization to enhance workflow efficiency.
Duration of Internship:ย
The internship will run for a period of 3 months starting from the start date. Working hours will be 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
Reporting Structure
The DTM-Information Management Intern will report to the Database officer. Regular check-ins and performance reviews will be conducted to ensure clarity of expectations and alignment of goals.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Under the overall supervision of the Senior Programme Coordinator (DTM) and direct supervision of the Reporting Officer (DTM) the intern will:
- Support in drafting and producing all DTM products (Flow Monitoring Snapshots, Quarterly Flow Monitoring reports, and other ad hoc and unique products), including helping produce narrative drafts, assisting in research, copy editing, data merging, and providing input on the Afghanistan context.ย
- Supporting in preparing infographics, graphs, and tables to be included in reports and updates.
- Liaise with Information Management and Operations colleagues to maintain proper communication on key workstreams, as well as to verify data and information from enumerators.
- Support non-official translation of documents to produce accurate and complete versions in English, Dari, and Pashto, using the most appropriate terminology and commonly accepted or established equivalents of professional, scientific, or technical concepts and terms.
- Perform other such duties as may be assigned.ย
Applicants must:
- Be enrolled in the final year of a bachelorโs degree or be enrolled in a graduate programme or have completed a university degree within the last 12 months.
- Demonstrate strong interest in reportingย .
- Have a working knowledge of English (oral and written); knowledge of Dari or Pashto is an advantage.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Excel and able to manage data with attention to detail.

The intern will receive a monthly stipend. On-the-job learning, coaching, and capacity-building support will be provided throughout the internship. Intern must be based in or able to travel to the Kabul office.Application Instructions
