In the framework of the situation regarding the migrants, asylum seekers and refugees across Greece, IOM Greece is establishing a pool of candidates interested to join the organization as soon as possible. The action under which the candidates will be selected shall contribute to the provision of targeted care interventions to the unaccompanied children (UMC) residing in Greece. Therefore, IOM will capitalize on its extensive experience on the areas of child protection so as to provide tailored support and interventions to the UMC by offering accommodation and care services.
Under the overall supervision of the Project Coordinator and the direct supervision of the Project Assistant, the successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:
- Ensure inclusion of all available information of the UMC beneficiaries of the scheme at the internal monitoring tracking tool.
- Monitor the internal monitoring tracking tool on a daily basis, updating entries based on modifications shared and/or developments shared by involved entities.
- Follow up with relevant stakeholders such as governmental authorities, NGOs and IOM field colleagues to track all adjustments on the status of the beneficiaries.
- Extract statistical information for the demographics of the beneficiaries of the Scheme.ย
- Establish and maintain daily communication with national authorities and field staff on all referrals of UMC from/to the Emergency Accommodation Facilities.
- In coordination with the Project Management Team assist provide guidance and support to the field teams on actions related to the submission of all required documentation for the referrals and placements of UMC to other sustainable accommodation settings.
- Perform other related duties as may be assigned. Education
- University degree in Social Sciences, Social Policy, Sociology, Psychosocial studies or Law from an accredited academic institution with minimum 2 years of relevant work experience. Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database. ย Experience
- At least 2 years of experience inย roles of social scientist or similar;
- Previous experience in data entry will be preferred;
- Previous experience at an IOM Emergency Accommodation Facility as well as knowledge of relevant referral pathways will be considered an asset;
- Familiar with direct assistance to migrants and/or refugees preferred;
- Experience in working in a multi-cultural environment an advantage. Skills
- Computer literacy in standard software applications (MS Office, etc) is mandatory;
- Good communication skills, personal commitment and efficiency. Languages
- Fluency in Greek and Englishย is required (oral and written). IOMโs official languages are English, French and Spanish.
