Result of ServiceUnder the overall supervision of the Chief, Thematic Support Section, Corruption and Economic Crime Branch, direct supervision of appropriate staff of the Section and in coordination with other consultants as necessary, the result of service expected from the individual contractor is as follows: A. Two university modules related to anti-corruption are edited and proofread (each module approx. 50 pages). B. One report on Corruption Challenges and Anti-Corruption Practices in the Private Sector in Ukraine with Focus on Energy and Construction (approx. 70 pages) and one legal gap analysis report for Ukraine (approx. 60 pages) are edited and proofread. C. One paper on good practices for incentives for business integrity in the area of public procurement (approx. 40 pages) and one Recommendations Paper on Strengthening Business Integrity in Public Procurement in Saudi Arabia (approx. 40 pages) are edited and proofread. D. One educational manual for the non-formal education sector (approx. 50 pages) is edited and proofread. E. One publication showcasing UNODC’s impact on business integrity since 2011 (approx. 40 pages) is edited and proofread. F. Two reports on tackling corruption in sport, in line with UN editorial guidelines (each report approx. 50 pages) are edited and proofread. G. A draft publication to support criminal justice authorities tackle corruption in sport, in line with UN editorial guidelines (approx. 50 pages), is edited and proofread. Work LocationHome-based Expected duration2/6/2025-30/8/2025 Duties and ResponsibilitiesBackground of the assignment: The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) is the guardian of the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC), the only legally binding universal anti-corruption instrument. The Convention's far-reaching approach and the mandatory character of many of its provisions makes it a unique tool for developing a comprehensive response to a global problem. UNODC possesses extensive experience and in-depth substantive expertise, delivering and adapting technical assistance to Member States upon request and working with a variety of national, regional and international stakeholders. Moreover, UNODC possesses substantial experience in developing technical tools, and disseminating and facilitating exchange of good practices in the fight against corruption. In this context, UNODC is seeking an individual contractor who will support the development of the following documents: - Two reports on tackling corruption in sport - One draft publication to support criminal justice authorities tackle corruption in sport - Three educational tools for educators: two university modules and one training manual for non-formal education sector - One publication showcasing UNODC’s impact on business integrity since 2011 - One report on Corruption Challenges and Anti-Corruption Practices in the Private Sector in Ukraine with Focus on Energy and Construction - One legal gap analysis report for Ukraine - One paper on good practices for incentives for business integrity in the area of public procurement - One Recommendations Paper on Strengthening Business Integrity in Public Procurement in Saudi Arabia Purpose of the assignment: The purpose of this assignment is to proofread and edit: - Two reports on tackling corruption in sport - One draft publication to support criminal justice authorities tackle corruption in sport - Three educational tools for educators: two university modules and one training manual for non-formal education sector - One publication showcasing UNODC’s impact on business integrity since 2011 - One report on Corruption Challenges and Anti-Corruption Practices in the Private Sector in Ukraine with Focus on Energy and Construction - One legal gap analysis report for Ukraine - One paper on good practices for incentives for business integrity in the area of public procurement - One Recommendations Paper on Strengthening Business Integrity in Public Procurement in Saudi Arabia Qualifications/special skills• A high school diploma or equivalent is required. University studies in languages, humanities, international relations or related discipline are desirable • At least seven (7) years of professional experience in writing, editing, proofreading and publishing is required; • A professional training in journalism or editing is required; excellent drafting skills are required; excellent grammar skills in English are required. • Experience in working with the United Nations Editorial Guidelines is required; • Experience in writing or editing documents for the United Nations, preferably on topics related to the purpose of the assignment, is desirable. LanguagesEnglish and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this post, fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage. Additional InformationNot available.
