Background
IFPRI is conducting a project to assess the feasibility, costs, and effectiveness of alternative school feeding program models and to present a solid case study of a feasible model maximizing the nutritional content and palatability of school meals while promoting local food production and food processing in Yemen.
Qualifications (required)
路 Bachelor鈥檚 degree or higher in a writing-intensive social science discipline (i.e. Sociology, Anthropology, Political Science, etc.) from an English language university
路 Ability to write professional level English
路 Excellent professional communication skills in English and Arabic
路 Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
路 Demonstrated ability in systematically organizing information from multiple sources
路 Demonstrated ability to write academic papers using correct and consistent citation style
路 Self-motivated and persistent in accomplishing tasks
路 Demonstrated interest in nutrition and development topics
路 At least 2 years of relevant work experience
Qualifications (preferred)
路 Interest or previous experience with school feeding programs
路 Interest or previous knowledge about Yemen
Activities
A consultancy is required to support the Yemen feasibility assessment final write-up:
路 Review draft report sections for missing information
路 Summarize information in writing with consistent citation format
路 Follow-up with contacts in Yemen by email and phone to compile missing data
路 Report bi-weekly to supervisor on project status
Time required
IFPRI anticipates that the time required for this contract will be approximately 30 working days.
