Introduction
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) As part of its Nigeriaโs commitment to foster Inclusive Growth and Economic Development, which prioritizes job creation, MSME development, and skills enhancement to advance sustainable livelihoods in Nigeria, the Technical Specialist will play a pivotal role in
โข Designing and implementing targeted training programmes. This role will also support the optimization of vocational and enterprise infrastructure, while providing strategic recommendations to deepen the impact of these centres.
โข Coordination with key stakeholders, including government agencies, private sector actors, vocational training institutions, and youth-focused organizations, in line with UNDPโs commitment to fostering inclusive, resilient, and sustainable economic opportunities.
โข Monitor activities in the various UNDP innovation hubs across the country
The Specialist, under the direct supervision of the Lead, Inclusive Growth Unit, will broadly be responsible for:
Developing strategic interventions that strengthen Nigeriaโs tourism ecosystem, focusing on infrastructure, marketing, creative economy linkages, and community-based tourism. Strengthening public-private partnerships to attract investments, enhance service delivery, and position Nigeria as a competitive tourism hub in Africa. Supporting policy and regulatory reforms that improve the ease of doing business in tourism, aligning with UNDPโs broader economic empowerment agenda. Building capacity for stakeholders, including MSMEs, youth, and women-led enterprises, to enhance participation in the tourism value chain.Facilitating knowledge exchange and innovation, leveraging digital platforms, AI, and sustainable tourism models to drive impact.
