Role and responsibilities
The purpose of the HSS Technical Assistant position is to assist in the day-to-day implementation of the HSS Country Office departmentโs functions and responsibilities. The HSS Technical Assistanceโs role will assist in implementing operational unit functions in collecting, storing and analysing information about the security situation in the Palestine area and the Region that affects the security situation in Palestine, assists in operating and monitoring communication equipment, vehicles and staff tracking during their movement, tracking of the staff who is coming to the country office operational area including Amman hub-office, sending bulk-SMS alert advisories to the staff.ย
Specific responsibilitiesย
Constantly monitor all available sources of information with the purpose of collecting data about the security situation in the Palestine Country Office area of activity โ Gaza and East Jerusalem/West Bank Area Offices and the Region of the Middle East.ย Collect and store all data about the security situation in the Palestine CO and MENA that affects the security situation in Palestine and Israel using all available tools like Excel, Power BI, Microsoft PPT, QGIS etc.ย Provide inputs for the HSS Officer to prepare a draft of the HSS daily, weekly, and monthly reporting based on the collected and processed information.ย Maintain location boards tracking NRC staff and vehicles.Alert security focal point/s /s of important events by monitoring the internet, Telegram channels, Social media, TV and radio news in local languages.ย Support HSS unit for coordination with the transport section to facilitate the transport for staff and visitors to the Country OfficeAwareness of every single security event or issue that happens in their area of responsibility to monitor โ Gaza and West Bank.Providing information to HSS unit for drafting and distributing SMS announcements to all staff at the request of a member of the security department and announcing the same information to all the drivers.ย Fulfilling any other related tasks that may be assigned by the supervisor, HSS Manager.ยย Professional competenciesย

Generic professional competencies:ย
Bachelor's degree in BA, Economics or any other related field.ย High attention to detail and ability to neatly complete assigned paperwork.ย Proven communication, interpersonal, representation, negotiation and skills.ย Computer skillsโdatabase knowledge is essential, as is operating Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint. Knowledge of Power BI or similar apps is an asset.ย Strong communication and listening skillsVery good knowledge of English and Arabic, writing and speaking. Herbew knowledge is an asset.ย A minimum of 1 year of non-profit or NGO work experience within international humanitarian assistance programs.ย Ability to travel throughout the West Bank and East JerusalemWhat we Offer?ย

This position is Grade (04) Step (01). Salary & Benefits are based on Jerusalem Duty Station.
Reports to: Health, Safety and Security Manager.
Number of positions: 2 positions.

Contract Duration: 12 months renewable, based on the need of position, fund and performance.
