Role and responsibilities
The purpose of the Finance Assistant position is day to day implementation of the support functions responsibilities.ย
Generic responsibilitiesย

Adhere to NRC Policies, Tools, handbooks and guidelinesย Implements independent procedures and activities within own function or core competency as delegatedย Responsible for organizing and delivery of tasks in line with priorities and standardsย Develop and maintain knowledge of the specialist area of work in which technical assistance and support is being provided, to be most effecting in supporting the teamย Use initiative in day-to-day problem solving in line with agreed procedures, priorities and standards for the area of workย Prepare and develop status reports as required by managementEnsure proper filling of documentsยSpecific responsibilitiesย

Archiving, organizing and updating financial documents both in hard and softScanning and filling of all financial documents in soft copyย Ensure that all the documents are properly placed, properly filled and labelledย Mange uploading financial documents in office 365Providing vouchers to auditors and place them back in the file folderย Help accountants on filling of monthly financial vouchersย Maintain records to ensure the long-term preservation and easy retrieval of documents and informationย Upon request of finance staff scan the documents and vouchersย Make sure and advice the users on how to best access, use and retrieve the archivesย Ensure financial documents are collected from field officers regularly and on timeย Liaises with compliance department audit and finance for any matter related to archiveย Assist handling all taxation matters including but not limited to extraction documents and preparing tax report in case necessaryย Help the finance staff in the acquisition and retrieval of documentsย Mange petty Cash replenishment and small payment of office running costsย Issue cheque payments and bank transfersย Support program team for field for training paymentsAny other task assigned by the supervisorยGeneric professional competencies:ย
Degree in Accounting and Finance, Business Administration, or related field fieldsAt least 3 yearsโ experience in relevant work in humanitarian or development sector, preferably in emergency contextExperience from working as a Support Function Officer in a humanitarian/recovery contextPrevious experience from working in complex and volatile contextsDocumented results related to the positionโs responsibilitiesSome knowledge of EnglishยContext/ Specific skills, knowledge and experience:ย
