Under the overall supervision of the Deputy Chief of Mission and technical coordination of the Snr. Emergency Coordinator and direct supervision of the National Programme Officer โ Climate Action & Human Mobility the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the following tasks under the DDRRU.
- Assist with daily operations and administrative mattersย of the unit to supportย smooth field operations.
- Support withย field monitoring and reporting as required.
- Assist with monitoringย budget and expenses;ย
- Support administrative coordination of project implementation, involving liaison with diverse organizational units and external parties to initiate requests, obtain necessary clearances, process and follow-up on administrative actions, etc.
- Contributeย to the drafting of status reports, identifying shortfalls in delivery and bringing them to the attention of the supervisor and taking necessary steps as per instruction.ย
- Draft correspondence, reports, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, presentations and other forms of documentation as required.ย
- Organize meetings, workshops and training sessions.ย
- Respond to general information requests and inquiries; set up and maintain files/records.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education:
- School diploma with four years of relevant experience; or,
Experience:
Work experience with developmental organizations.ย Experience in liaising with multiple units and multiple organizations Experience in working with disaster affected population in climate vulnerable areas will be an added advantage Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantageSkills:
Experience in processing documents, invoices, approvals and organizational administrative activities on an online enterprise resource planning (ERP) software such as Oracle or SAP is an advantage.ย Knowledge of the broad range of disaster displacement related subject areas. Knowledge of UN and bilateral donor programming. Knowledge of financial rules and regulations, preferably of IOM. Excellent communication skills and attention to detail. Ability to quickly and efficiently work under pressure.
