Your responsibilities

At CERNs Business Computing Group (FAP-BC), we place significant emphasis on the continuous improvement of our business processes to ensure operational efficiency and sustainable growth.

As an Enterprise Architecture Tool coordinator, you will help us managing the use and further evolution of our Enterprise Architecture/Modelling Tool (EMT, often also referred to as Enterprise Architecture tool, used for Business Process and Architecture modelling) for different product groups within our organisation. You will work closely with various stakeholders (Product Managers, Architects, Business Partners, Dev Teams, ...) to understand their modelling and documentation requirements and use your analytical and organisational skills to coordinate the further adoption, maintenance and sustainable long term growth of the group's EA tool.

Responsibilities:

Architecture/Process modelling: Collaborate with different teams to gain insights into our business processes, and assist in identifying areas for improvement and streamlining.Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into actionable plans.Support the mapping of current and proposed business/technical processes using BPMN, UML, Archimate, contributing to the overall process analysis and optimisation.Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand their specific business requirements and contribute to the implementation of improved processes.Communicate openly with team members and stakeholders, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.Enterprise Modeling Tool Coordination : Drive and promote the Adoption of the Enterprise Architecture / Modelling tool (EMT): As EMT Coordinator, your primary responsibility will be to encourage the widespread adoption of the EMT. You will work closely with stakeholders from various sections (in and outside our Group), listen to their needs, and give advice on how to fulfil their modelling/documentation/reporting needs with the help of the EMT.Day-to-day coordination of the relationship with the EMT vendor (follow-up on new releases, coordination of interventions, follow up on support issues, organise help/consultancy sessions).Together with the group's design and architecture teams, monitor and further develop the EMT governance model to allow a sustainable long-term growth.Develop templates and guidelines: Leveraging your existing understanding and counting on your continuous further learning of Enterprise modeling concepts, you will create templates and guidelines that reflect industry best practices while considering the unique aspects of our organisation. These resources will serve as a reference to ensure efficient and consistent modeling practices for all EMT users.Training and Support: You will create and maintain comprehensive tutorials and ongoing support to EMT users at all levels. You will address their questions, offer guidance, and ensure that they feel comfortable and empowered in utilizing the tool's functionalities.Create content: You will create new and refactor existing content in the group's EMT (e.g. all kind of objects intended to be used in process or architecture models, business process models, application landscape content, etc.).

Your profile

Skills and/or knowledge

Experience:

Strong understanding of business modelling concepts and the ability to translate requirements into practical solutions;Proficiency in developing templates, guidelines, and training materials.

Personal skills:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage, drive and train users at all levels of the organization;Analytical mindset with the ability to gather, analyze, and interpret data for actionable insights;Proactive problem-solving skills, with the ability to address technical challenges and provide effective solutions;Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines; Fluent in English, the ability to work in French would be an advantage.

Advantageous experience/skills:

Experience as a user of an Enterprise Modeling / Architecture Tool within an organization; Experience in writing scripts using .NET (C# or VB) to automate the EMT.

Eligibility criteria:

You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.You have a professional background in Software Engineering, Business Analysis (or a related field) and have either: a Master's degree with 2 to 6 years of post-graduation professional experience;or a PhD with no more than 3 years of post-graduation professional experience.You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.

Contract duration: 24 months, with a possible extension up to 36 months maximum.
