- Roles and Responsibilities
The Education Officer supports NRC's 'Education in Host' program, working closely with 4-5 formal schools to implement program activities, build school capacity, and ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment. This position involves coordination with school staff, quality monitoring, training, and supervising volunteers.
Generic responsibilities

7.ย ย ย ย Promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards and principles within NRC and among beneficiaries.Specific responsibilities
- Program Implementation: Lead the implementation of NRCโs 'Education in Host' programs (Safe and Inclusive Schools, Learning Support Services, and Better Learning Program) within 4-5 schools.
- Capacity Building: Provide training and support to school management and staff, including teaching and non-teaching personnel, to foster effective program execution.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with school committees and parents, ensuring active community participation and support.
- Quality Control: Oversee and validate self-reported activities from school management, submitting accurate reports to project management and IM Officer.ย
- Tool Development and Revision: Contribute to the revision of existing program tools/manuals and support the development of new resources based on lessons learned.
- Volunteer Oversight: Supervise 4-5 volunteers across schools, ensuring they effectively monitor student attendance, facilitate activities, engage parents, manage distribution of materials, and maintain positive relationships between NRC and school administration.
ยCritical Interfaces:
The Education Officer will work closely with the following stakeholders and departments to ensure cohesive program implementation:
- Project Team: Collaborate with Project Officers, Team Leader, Project Manager, Education Specialist for cohesive program delivery and other core competencies where appropriate.ย
- Communication Staff: Coordinate with communications for program updates and success stories.
- Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E): Work with M&E teams for reporting, feedback collection, and analysis.
Scale and Scope of Position:
- Staff: None directly managed
- Volunteers: Supervision of 4-5 volunteers
- Stakeholders: School management teams at 4-5 schools
- Compliance: Ensure program adherence to NRC and donor regulations, as well as compliance with national laws.
