The Opportunity:
This position is responsible for assessment, response analysis, design and implementation of the education components of integrated project emergency response. S/he will need to co-ordinate with other Emergency Response team members and Plan staff, especially Implementation Management, protection and other relevant technical sectors, to ensure a rapid, proportionate and effective response. S/he will need to ensure response to immediate child education issues with simultaneous consideration of longer term needs and possible scenarios. The officer may be expected to take a very active role in technical co-ordination, support and advocacy with the country specific education Clusters and other stakeholders and technical agencies relevant to the sector.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications/ Experience essential:
- B.E. degree in Education, pedagogy, Early childhood care and education (ECCE), Psychology and related field of studies
- 3-5 years of relevant work experience, involving both in emergency and development programs
- Experience with the following technical areas:
- Mobilizing community and training to the ECCE facilitators and school teachers
- Knowledge and experience of the education and support of the pre-school children

Safeguarding Children and Young People (Safeguarding) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI)
- Understand and put into practice the responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI policies and Plan Internationalโs Code of Conduct (CoC).
- Ensure that Plan Internationalโs global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in day to day work.
- Ensure that Plan Ethiopia contributes to Plan Internationalโs global efforts to ensure safeguarding and GEI, including making sure that relevant reporting and data are submitted.
