The Education Coordinator is responsible for implementing the delegated Education project portfolio in the Jabal Marrah Area Office.

Generic responsibilitiesย 

Line management ofย Education project field staff. Adherence to NRC policies, guidance, and procedures. Contribute to education strategy development, and project proposals, and provide input on needs and gaps.ย  Ensure that projects target project participants who are most in need of protection and explore and assess new and better ways to assist. Promote and share ideas for improvement and necessary changes in the activities. Ensure capacity building of project staff and transfer key skills.ย  Liaise and collaborate with relevant local authorities and other key stakeholders. Promote the rights of refugees and IDPs in line with the advocacy strategy. Ensure NRCโ€™s related activities are implemented in accordance with NRC Safe and Inclusive Programming (SIP) guidelines, policies and Sudan-specific explanatory notes.

Specific responsibilitiesย 

Project Cycle Management (PCM) & Implementation.ย As delegated by line-manager, responsible forย the successful implementation of the Education activities throughout the full project cycle. Produce key PCM documentation (e.g. M&E Matrix, Procurement Plans, logical frameworks, budget, etc.); monitor procurement processes and budget spending. Technical Quality.ย Responsible for ensuring implementation of high-quality Education projects inย accordance with the agreed NRC Country and Core Competency Strategies, tools and guidelines. Provide technical support for capacity building in key areas like Psychosocial Support (PSS)/Better Learning Programme (BLP), Teachers in Crisis Context (TiCC), Peer-to-Peer Coaching, and Teachersโ€™ Self-care and Wellbeing, ensuring high-quality implementation of training packages. Programme Development. Responsible for supporting high quality Area Office-level input into the country-level Education programme development initiatives (e.g., Core Competency Strategies). This may include โ€“ but is not limited to โ€“ supporting Area Office-level context & needs analysis, over-seeing primary needs assessment, pilot activities, and meaningful engagement in relevant forums and learning events.ย  Project M&E.ย As delegated by line-manager, responsible for accurate and high-quality Monitoring and Evaluation of delegated projects, including information management and archiving.ย  Reporting. As delegated by line manager, responsible for accurate and high-quality contributions to the reporting of achievements through all relevant reporting mechanisms.ย  Coordination & Representation. As delegated by line-manager, responsible for representing the Area Office Education project team in Education workshops, Community-of-Practice meetings/calls, project update meetings, trainings, and other related events.ย ย

Context related skills, knowledge and experienceย 

Knowledge of education context in Sudan; understanding of the circumstances, needs and challenges refugees/IDPs and the host community children face. Understanding of Sudanโ€™s contextualized INEE minimum standards Knowledge of the basics of Child Protection and/or psychosocial support Experience working with children and/or educators; MoE-level experience a plus. Experience training or building the capacity of others. Candidates with a university and/or advanced degree preferred, significant experience in the field of education
