The purpose of the Education Assistant position is to implement delegated CC project portfolio.
The Education Assistant will help the Education Technical Assistants/ Education Officer in Sar e Pul to properly implement and monitor the AEP classes in Sar e Pul province. The aim of NRCโs Education program is to enableย vulnerable, displaced, returnee, and host community children and youth to have access to quality education in a protective environment.
Community-Based Education (CBE) and Accelerated Education Programme (AEP) classes are the main components of Education Projects in Sar e Pul Province. And providing opportunities to enrol out-of-school children in the AEP/CBE classes to support formal Education and strengthen their capacity to host the IDP, Returnee, and host community out-of-school children to continue their education at the upper level.ย
The Education Assistant in Sar e Pul working under the guidance and technical support of the Education team leader, Project Coordinator and Project Manager. He/ she will provide support to the Education Officer in overall project implementation including need assessments, community sensitization, beneficiary selection, capacity building of AEP teachers and Education Supervisors, data collection, data entry, and monitoring of Education projects in Sar e Pul. He/ She will play a technically supporting role in implementing of the CBE and AEP classes. He/ she will be expected to spend up to 80% of his/ her time in the field, visiting the project sides and providing technical support to the team, etc.ย

Provide support on quality implementation of education project activities in technical components of education projects likeย Accelerated Learning Program (ALP) Community Based Education (CBE), School Improvement Plan (SIP) Education First Phase Response (EFPR) and Support to Formal Education (FE).ย Preparation and facilitation of capacity-building training for ALP/CBE teachers, school Shura members, and parents.ย Support and follow up with ALP & CBE teachers on the establishment of child-friendly space and learning atmosphere in her/his responsible ALP & CBE classes and provide support for ALP & CBE teachers in their professional/academic life.ย Regular monitoring from ALP & CBE classes, and facilitate joint monitoring with DED/CED/PED staff from ALP & CBE classes.Facilitate community sensitizations, and community awareness on the importance of education especially Girlsโ education among the targeted communities, and conduct parent meetings on control/decrease dropouts.Data collection ofย all information related to students, teachers, attendance, and exam marks in community-based education activities.ย Contribute to the handover process of ALP/CBE classes to hub school and ensure all required documents are provided according to the CBE policy - ministry of education.Facilitate assessments/surveys/need assessment to find the needs/gaps for better response and being accountable for data collection.Distribution of educational kits/materials and textbooks for responsible ALP & CBE classes and collection and handover of the collected textbooks to the relevant hub schools.ย Promote psychosocial support and new awareness-raising subjects on the protection of children.Establishment of close work relationship with education staff on promoting filling system/data collection, and psychosocial support of beneficiaries and other core competencies staff considering the integration approach.Prepare weekly reports an SMART weekly plan and be accountable for the implemented activities through provide means of verifications (MoVs)ย Support Edu Officer and Team leader in the overall implementation of project components and any other tasks as assigned by Edu PC/ Edu TL/Edu officer/FoC.Generic professional competencies for this position:
Previous experience working in complex and volatile contexts.Documented results related to the positionโs responsibilities.Knowledge of English is an asset.Context related skills; knowledge and experience:
University degree/ Certification/ Diplomaย within Education or another related field.Minimum of 2 years of working experience with the humanitarian program in the fields of community-based education, and teacher training preferably with UN or INGOs.Knowledge of the local language Dari, Uzbeki, Pashto.Knowledge of AEP, SIPStrong cultural awareness and sensitivityExcellent computer skillsFamiliarity with the field context and geography of Sar e Pul province.ยย Behavioural competencies:
