ย The Internship Programme aims at attracting talented students and graduates who have a specific interest in, or whose studies have covered, areas relevant to IOM programmes and activities. Interns must be between 20 and 36 years old and should have less than two years of relevant working experience.ย
ย In general, the Internship Programme aims at attracting talented students and graduates who:a) have a specific interest in, or whose studies have covered, areas relevant to IOM programmes and activities;b) are holding a scholarship for internship placements in international organizations and/or for whom internship is required to complete their studies; orc) are sponsored by governmental/non governmental institutions and/or academia to work in specific areas relevant to both IOM and the sponsor.d) are either enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelorโs level or equivalent) or have graduated in the last 12 months.e) are between 20 and 36 years of age.
- Assist in providing information toย migrants before, during and after health assessments:ย provision of accurate and timely replies to applicantsโ enquiries through phone, Whatsapp, email, and in person; assistance and guidance with value added services.
- Assist in receiving applicants as they report for migration health assessment: taking pictures, preparing and issuing health assessment tracking sheets, assisting correctness of information filled in on tracking sheets, and bank payment slip; completeness check of the supporting documents; sorting of the documents with relevant checklist; assistance to applicants if the documents are incomplete.ย
- Onsite appointment booking: assist in booking health assessments on provided software application and issuing appointment confirmation accordingly.
- Assist in collecting feedback from applicants as they go through theย health assessment process with the objective of assessing the quality service delivery.
- Data-unit support: assist in accurately registering applicants during their health assessment on Mimosa and Emedical, and in the deletion of duplicates on Mimosa.
- ย Provide general administrative,ย and clerical support to the Migration Health Unit.ย
Education and Experience
The candidate should:
- Be enrolled in the final academic year of Bachelorโs / Master`s level or equivalent in Bilingual Studies (English and French), Linguistics, Communication Sciences, Social Sciences or related field;
- Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
- orย have graduated with a university degreeย (not later than 1 year ago) in Bilingual Studies (English and French), Linguistics, Communication Sciences, Social Sciences or related field;
