About this position:
The Administrative Services Division (ACP), within the Budget and Administrative Services Department (BDA), provides a broad array of administrative and corporate services to the IDB Group in Headquarters (Washington, D.C.) and Country Offices (in Latin America and the Caribbean). Among these services are real estate management and other corporate services supporting the IDB Group in its US Washington, D.C.-based Headquarters and 28 country offices. The Division also oversees the Bankโs Corporate Sustainability Program (CSP), the Facilitiesโ Capital Projects Portfolio, and the formulation and implementation of Service Level Agreements between the IDB Group members for corporate services. As a Department, BDA also provides budget and corporate procurement services including the formulation of the Bankโs Administrative and Capital Budgets through its Budget and Procurement Services Division (BGT).
The Administration of Corporate Real Estate Group (ACR), within ACP, is responsible for administering the Bankโs Real Estate Portfolio and developing and recommending strategies and guidelines on space usage, facilities design standards, project and construction management, facilities condition assessments, and the disposition of the IDBโs corporate real estate portfolio in both the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area and in the Latin American and Caribbean Region.
ACR is offering a consultant opportunity for a Real Estate Project Manager to support the implementation of the Corporate Real Estate Approach, which entails major renovations of the main IDB building in its Headquarters (HQ).
What youโll do:
- Handle facilities projects from planning and development to completion and post-occupancy follow-up.
- Ensure projects are completed to the IDB standards, maintain comprehensive and accurate cost accounting, and monitor cashflow projections to ensure efficient execution and within budget.
- Assist corporate procurement on bidding processes and contract awards and coordinate awarded contracts related to facilities projects.
- Carry out quality control, and review construction documentation, submittals, and specifications provided by contractors and/or consultants to ensure the project reflects the clientโs requirements.
- Keep and maintain updated project and contract documents, specifications, reports, working plans, and as-built plans in the official digital repository.
What you'll need:
- Education: masterโs degree in engineering, architecture, project management, or relevant field required. Training and/or certification in agile methodologies or similar facilities project management approach and/or project management certification are highly desired.
- Experience: At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in facilities and space management, Corporate Real Estate Strategy, project management, and project finance. Experience working with multilateral organizations or international firms in the Latin American and Caribbean region is a plus. Ability to develop, analyze and articulate project issues. Ability to diagnose problems and propose reliable solutions.
- Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.
Key skills:
- Ability to read, interpret, and create construction drawings and specifications.
- Able to handle project costs accurately and effectively within budgetary requirements and have knowledge of Resource Planning Systems such as SAP or similar.
- Knowledge of building code and construction standards and best practices.
- Experience with building sustainability certification requirements and processes (e.g., LEED)
- Proficient use of project management tools such as ServiceNow PPM or MS Project, with Microsoft Office Suite, and with AutoCAD.
- Strong Interpersonal skills and ability to work with others.
- Ability to effectively run meetings and communicate ideas.
- Outstanding organizational skills and ability to analyze and prioritize multiple project tasks simultaneously.
Requirements:
- Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries.
- Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
Type of contract and duration:
- Type of contract: International Consultant Full-Time (CNS).
- Length of contract: 24 months, extendable up to 36 months if business need is present.
- Work Location: On-site.
