Corporate Real Estate Space Management Support Consultant

About this position

The Budget and Administrative Services Department (BDA) is responsible for providing, through our Administrative Services Division (BDA/ACP), a broad array of administrative services at both Headquarters and Country Offices, including corporate real estate management, corporate travel management, records management, corporate security, and other institutional support services. The Administration of Corporate Real Estate (ACR) primary responsibility is administering the Bank’s Real Estate Portfolio and developing and recommending strategies and guidelines on space usage, facilities design standards, project and construction management, facilities condition assessments, and the disposition of the IDB’s corporate real estate portfolio in both the Washington DC metropolitan area and in the Region including the management of the related budgets.

The ACR group is looking for a highly motivated individual with proven CAD technical skills to support the space management function including supporting the drafting and maintenance activities for the digital records of the IDB Group’s Corporate Real Estate portfolio. This role involves utilizing computer-aided design (CAD) software and related tools to create accurate and detailed technical drawings and layouts of the Bank’s floor plans at Headquarters (HQS) and its 26 Country Offices (COFs). This position will collaborate closely with Headquarters and COF's Administration of ACR Project Managers.

What you’ll do:

· Production, alteration, and modification of architectural space plans using AutoCAD.

· Ensure accuracy and adherence to design standards, codes, and guidelines in all produced CAD documentation.

· Perform reviews to verify that space data standards are applied and kept up to date throughout the corporate real estate portfolio.

· Conduct field verifications to survey HQs space conditions and collect departmental space information to ensure the accuracy of floor plans.

· Maintain a well-organized file management system for CAD documents, ensuring easy retrieval and version control in the official Bank’s digital repository.

· Create layout options that satisfy requests and help maintain optimal space utilization.

· Provide ongoing assistance during system updates, data loads, move projects, and resolve data issues.

· Stay updated with the latest CAD software and tools, exploring opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains.

· Maintain and manage the portfolio’s facilities and space information in the Bank’s IWMS software (Nuvolo).

· Support the ACR project management team at HQs with alteration and major renovation projects under the new Corporate Real Estate Approach throughout the building.

· Support the Country Offices team with space management and planning.

What you'll need

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Architecture, Engineering, Interior Architectural Design or related field.
  • Experience: At least two years of relevant professional experience working with Autodesk suite systems (AutoCAD), BIM, and similar activities, facilities and workplace space management tools, and project management. Experience working with multilateral organizations and the Latin America and Caribbean region is a plus. Ability to develop, analyze and articulate project issues. Ability to diagnose problems and propose reliable solutions. Working experience using IDB systems is preferred: SAP, ServiceNow, Nuvolo.
  • Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.

      • Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries.
      • Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.

        • Type of contract: International Consultant Full-Time.
        • Length of contract: 24 months.
        • Work Location: On site.
