Consultant (National) (Adv#68/2025) icddr,b is a Bangladesh-based international health research institute that strives to solve key public health problems through high-quality scientific research and innovation. icddr,b encourages women and people with disabilities. icddr,b invites applications from suitable candidates for consultancy with the Maternal, Newborn and Child Health under the Maternal and Child Health Division. Background of the Project: To identify and support the delivery platform and policy requirements for the introduction of new maternal vaccines for preventing newborn diseases in Bangladesh. Thus, a mixed method study design (both quantitative and qualitative study) has been undertaken. The results of this study will provide policymakers, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders with valuable information to make informed decisions about the allocation of resources and the introduction of GBS/RSV vaccine programs. There are 5 work packages proposed for introducing new maternal vaccine in Bangladesh. The work packages (WP) are as follows: Work Package 1: Analysis and synthesis of maternal immunization (MI) delivery pathways and care levels Work Package 2: Synthesis of burden of disease data and identify systems that can/could capture prospective disease data Work Package 3: Synthesis of work on disease modelling and cost-effectiveness of products, identify critical data gaps, and undertake additional analyses as needed Work Package 4: Select, adapt and apply social science approaches to understand vaccine demand and hesitancy Work Package 5: Stakeholder mapping and building community of practice The consultant will contribute as a health economics specialist in analysis and activities under work package 3. This study will evaluate the economic efficiency of implementing GBS/RSV vaccine in Bangladesh. However, at this point a consultant is required for refining the cost parameter and guide to analyze the cost-effectiveness and budget impact analysis for maternal vaccine in Bangladesh. Location: Mohakhali, Dhaka Expected start date: July, 2025 Duration: Total 20 days Scope of Work: To estimate the cost effectiveness and budget impact analysis of the maternal vaccine in Bangladesh. Specific Responsibilities:
Review the methodological aspects of the cost analysis and refining the cost parameters; Guiding and planning for the cost analysis (cost-effectiveness and budget impact analysis) for maternal vaccination in Bangladesh; Attend work package related meetings and assist in responding to technical questions. Expected Deliverables:
Review of UNIVAC tool; List of data inputs; Identification of data sources and gaps; Data validation workshops with stakeholders; Data analysis review; Report on the cost-effectiveness and budget impact analysis of maternal vaccine in Bangladesh. Required Qualification and Experience:
MPH (Epidemiology) with MBBS; Candidates having PhD in relevant subject will be preferred; At least 15 years of experience in relevant field; Notes of attention:
