Background
NRC has provided first-line humanitarian response since 2021 with multisector activities in shelter, education, livelihoods and food security, and information, counselling and legal assistance. Our focus is on supporting people in hard-to-reach areas, working in partnership with authorities and local actors. We are piloting cash-based interventions with displaced populations living in host communities. NRC offers a comprehensive response for returnees and IDPs of high need, addressing their food security, livelihood, shelter, education, ICLA, and water, hygiene and sanitation needs and also responding to emergencies through NRCโs six core competencies; Shelter, Education, Livelihoods and Food Security, WASH and Information, Counselling and Legal Assistance (ICLA) and Protection from Violence.
NRC Somalia is part of NRCโs East & South Africa regional operation which comprises of large-scale multi-country humanitarian and early recovery interventions spread across Ten countries (Kenya, Somalia, Ethiopia, Djibouti, Eritrea, South Sudan, Uganda, Tanzania, Sudan and Mozambique).ย NRCโs overall strategy in the region is to enhance protection and promote the rights of displaced people in humanitarian need by improving living conditions and seeking durable solutions. The regional office is based in Nairobi and works with country programmes to ensure standardization of programmatic and operational approaches, promote multi-country programming and ensure quality and coordination.ย
NRC Livelihoods and food security department in South Central Somalia is implementing emergency lifesaving and sustaining livelihoods through provision of MPCA, UCT and Market based livelihoods included on farm and none-farm based livelihoods for the displacement-affected communities. Hence, NRC will be hiring a qualified enumerators to support us in implementation of emergency livelihoods and food security projects in Galgaduud (Adado), with travelling to remote Villages in the District to conduct beneficiariesโ registrations, monitoring,ย data cleaning, verifications, and community mobilizations.ย The causal staff (enumerator)ย is expected to represent Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) in a respectful and professional manner and always act in accordance with the NRC Code of Conduct.
Role and Responsibilities:
The Community mobilizer is responsible for the organizing the processes of food distribution in the assigned target locations in Adado District of galgaduud Region.ย
Conduct beneficiary mobilization in all target villages. Demonstrate a strong commitment to being accountable to beneficiaries as it is a key to the Norwegian Refugee Councilโs commitment to beneficiaries. Sensitize beneficiaries on the cash value entitlement to be received monthly, duration, and how/where the cash assistance will be received. Collate data, contribute to the preparation of reports, and provide information for better decision-making by stakeholders including selection process, identification and selection criteria. Assist Protection risks survivors and advises via existing referral bath ways. Disseminate project visibilities, establish appropriate and accessible Complaint & Responses Mechanisms in the target sites, and introduce beneficiaries to address their concerns to the available CRMs hotlines. Support community awareness raising activities. Prepare and submit monthly reports and regular/activity/site visit reports on regular bases. Undertake Beneficiaries data record in excel sheets and manuals.ย Perform other functions as requested by the immediate supervisor.Qualifications, Skills & Experience Required
