COMMUNICATION AND KNOWLEDGE SHARING SENIOR ASSOCIATE, JORDAN
POSITION SUMMARY
The Communication and Knowledge Sharing Senior Associate will support the GGGI Jordan program and will be based in GGGI's Jordan office in Amman. Under the guidance of the Country Representative, he/she will be responsible for driving the Program's communications activities by supporting the development of a communication plan for the Program and projects, including content development, media engagement, communication, knowledge sharing, advocacy, and outreach activities in an inclusive and environmentally sustainable manner. The role is aligned with and will support GGGI's wider Global Communication and Knowledge Sharing goals.
The Communication and Knowledge Sharing Senior Associate will manage day-to-day tasks, including social media content and promotional materials development, public relations, and project communications activities, as well as facilitate meetings preparation, onsite events, and other pertinent tasks. PURPOSE
The purpose of the Communication and Knowledge Sharing Senior Associate is to:
- Lead the creation and implementation of a communication plan for the Jordan program, ensuring GGGI's positioning and visibility in the country.
- Oversee branding and event organization at country level to highlight GGGI's priorities, program, and impact.
- Develop and consistently update project factsheets, messages, promotional materials, visualizations, and publications, ensuring alignment with GGGI and donor guidelines while adhering to the organizationโs brand and visual identity.
- Coordinate and manage communication and knowledge-sharing interventions, events, and campaigns, adhering to GGGIโs policies and principles and maximizing their effectiveness.
- Oversee publications relevant for Jordan, including supporting technical teams to develop production TORs, proofreading, design, and dissemination, while aligning with global communication and knowledge sharing standards and guidelines.
- Monitor and synthesize relevant news and research for the Jordan program to craft key messages for GGGI staff and stakeholders.
- Manage junior communication staff and collaborate with GGGIโs global communication and knowledge sharing teams to design and deliver impactful initiatives.
ENGAGEMENT
The Communication and Knowledge Sharing Senior Associate is expected to:
- Engage with the country team while supporting the engagement of partner government ministries/agencies to ensure all materials, including jointly branded ones, are aligned with GGGIโs communications policies and guidelines.
- Work with GGGI Jordan MEL focal point to draw out insights, lessons learnt for external communication and knowledge sharing purposes.
- Collaborate with GGGI HQ Communications and Knowledge Sharing Unit and other Event Teams to facilitate the countryโs outreach and communications and knowledge sharing activities.
- Collaborating with other units and divisions of GGGI to ensure integrated delivery as One GGGI. The incumbent will be a member of GGGIโs Global Communication and Knowledge Sharing team
- Coordinate and liaise with external vendors (e.g., printer, designer, etc.) to produce campaigns and marketing packages.
DELIVERY
- Develop and implement an audience-focused communication and knowledge-sharing plan that aligns with GGGI and project goals, ensuring consistent dissemination to target audiences.
- Generate compelling content across multiple channels (e.g., social media, newsletters, videos) and produce high-quality publications, ensuring adherence to branding and safeguarding guidelines.
- Manage external communications, engage with local journalists, and organize knowledge sharing activities to support GGGIโs events, conferences, and workshops.
- Build and maintain media relations in Jordan, develop media lists, pitch stories, and monitor media coverage related to green growth and climate sectors.
- Measure the effectiveness of communication initiatives using KPIs, analytics, and feedback; provide regular reports and advice for adjusting the communication plan.
- Create and manage innovative social media campaigns, draft and publish content, and maintain a creative resources library for the program.
- Collaborate with partner governments, stakeholders, and program staff to address outreach and communication needs while identifying engagement opportunities.
- Coordinate external vendors for marketing materials, manage creative resources, and support global communication teams in sharing lessons learned from GGGI programs.
- Ensure that all communication and knowledge sharing initiatives are in line with GGGIโs gender and social inclusion policies and guidelines.
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIREMENT
- Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline (e.g., communications, design, journalism, public relations, international development, etc.)
- Preferably, minimum 5 years of work experience, with at least four years in communications and policy influencing campaigns; An advanced degree may be considered as professional experience. .
- Experience in coordinating and delivering high-impact communication materials and organizing knowledge sharing events (including high-profile ones), preferably in a multilateral setting, is required.
- Hands-on experience in producing communications collateral (using relevant software/tools, etc.) is required. Proven track record of developing communication materials, including animation, using the Adobe Creative Suite will be considered a strong advantage.
- A strong grasp of issues and topics related to green growth, climate change, and sustainable development is highly desirable.
- A strong grasp of the Jordan context, especially experience working with government, or private sector stakeholders.
- Experience in external relations and liaison management in an international organization related to green growth and global development is a plus.
- An excellent command of spoken and written English and Arabic.

The Senior Associate is an X7 grade level in GGGI's Jordan salary scale. The salary range for the position starts at USD 33,948 per annum, depending on qualifications, experience, academic background, and internal equity. GGGI contributes 15% of the base salary to the retirement plan/long-term savings, 27 days of annual leave, and private health insurance that covers dental and vision.
