Project Context and Scope:
In October 2025, Hurricane Melissa, a Category 3 storm later downgraded to Category 2, caused severe flooding and landslides across several regions of Haiti, killing 31 people and displacing over 15,800. The disaster exposed the countryโs high vulnerability and limited capacity to respond effectively to extreme weather events. Access to protection services remains limited, and there is an urgent need to strengthen support systems, build community resilience, and provide culturally appropriate services to help individuals and communities recover and thrive.
Support the implementation of the plan of activities of the project(s) under the direct coordination of the Protection Coordinator assisted by the Protection Specialist.ย Support day-to-day activities and administrative processes; report regularly on the challenges and progress recorded in realization of activities. Support the organization of protection interventions including direct liaison with respective state and non-state actors working in this space. Assist with case management and support of protection activities, including conducting screening interviews and intake as required, as well as referrals for further assistance (e.g. screening, interviewing, counselling, referral or assistance). Assist with the implementation and maintenance of the beneficiary profile and needs assessment formats and ensure that information on the migrant is codified and stored in IOM database for further processing, analysis, and reporting. Assist in communicating with appropriate IOM units and field offices, including psychosocial assistance, gender-based violence, counter-trafficking, etc. Facilitate temporary shelter placement for vulnerable displaced persons when required. Support the monitoring of protection cases. Conduct field visits, as and when necessary. Perform such other duties as may be assigned. Ensure effective implementation of IOMโs protection initiatives and case management, as measured by the number of cases successfully assisted and resolved. Prepare timely and accurate reports and summary notes, with performance tracked by adherence to deadlines and quality standards. Support the organization of awareness-raising and capacity-building sessions for project beneficiaries, demonstrated by the number of sessions conducted and participant feedback.Education, Experience and/or skills required

ย School diploma with four years of relevant experience; or Bachelorโs degree in political or social sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law, or related fields from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience. ยExperience
Experience in humanitarian affairs, and/or development relating to migration, refugee, IDP issues, showing increasing levels of responsibility; field experience preferred. Experience in liaising with government authorities, other national/international institutions, and NGOs Experience in project management and development and/or monitoring, evaluation, and reporting; Demonstrated experience working on protection programming and/or vulnerable people with protection needs in an emergency or post-conflict environment.
