    Background

    WFP Brazil - Centre of Excellence against Hunger is a global hub for South-South Cooperation and capacity development in the areas of school feeding, food security and nutrition. It is an innovation that seeks to respond government demands for technical support to strengthen their national capacities and knowledge on food security initiatives and to support them in the design and implementation of these programmes.

    The Business Support Assistant will report directly to the Head of Programme. In this position, the job holder is expected to deliver a range of routine business support tasks, to ensure that staff are effectively supported, ensuring quality, accuracy and consistency of work.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Within delegated authority, the Business Support Assistant will support the Programme Unit in the following duties:

    1. Draft routine correspondence and proofread materials using proper grammar, punctuation, and style.
    2. Coordinate schedules and team priorities, monitor changes, and communicate relevant information to appropriate staff, both within and outside the immediate work unit.
    3. Help maintain up-to-date distribution lists, travel schedules, and leave schedules.
    4. Process and manage routine administrative and financial tasks within the Programme Unit to contribute to the effective and timely management of resources.
    5. Assist with official travel arrangements for Programme Unit staff (e.g., trip documents, flight and hotel bookings).
    6. Assist with the preparation and logistical planning for various events (e.g., conferences, workshops, meetings, missions) and liaise with other units.
    7. Undertake standard data entry tasks in accordance with defined systems to ensure information is organized and readily available for the Programme team.
    8. Resolve non-routine problems with appropriate guidance as necessary.
    9. Perform other duties related to the functional area.
