Compensation and benefits: MSF practice is to offer the C&B package current in the MSF entity establishing the contract.

By default, the successful candidate will be offered a contract in the MSF office of their country of residence at the time of application.

I. MSF INTERNATIONAL

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international, independent, medical humanitarian organisation that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, healthcare exclusion and natural disasters. MSF offers assistance to people based only on need and irrespective of race, religion, gender or political affiliation.

MSF International is the legal entity that binds together MSF’s 27 Institutional Members of which 24 sections, and other offices such as Branch Offices and Satellites. MSF International provides coordination, information and support to the MSF movement, and implements international projects and initiatives as requested.

Within MSF International, the International Office (IO) is the Secretariat of MSF International Board and is under the direct management of the International Secretary General. MSF International also provides administrative support to the MSF Access to Product Healthcare (APH).

II. CONTEXT

Spinco (Source of Product Information and Coordination) coordinates on processes, manages and maintains the digital solutions to support processes for the wider MSF organisation, especially in relation to product information and single source of truth data bases. A few of the digital solutions are:

. UniData is MSF’s central supply article database that details all items available for the field and shares article changes within the Movement. The online platform of UniData gives an oversight on articles available as resources for operations, in alignment with MSF guidelines and protocols; unicat, a web-based solution that enables the fastest, most user-friendly way to interrogate the product information held in UniData.

. MSL: Supporting the management of Medical Standard Lists, the MSL solution uses Spinco’s single source of product information, guaranteeing access to the most up to date and validated data. The MSL process and solution is owned by the MSF Pharma Co-ordination.

. UniQuality/UniLocal solutions used by MSF Pharma network and Supply Centres that manages the information on the Quality Assurance process in MSF for Drugs, Medical Devices and Specialised food.

III. PURPOSE OF THE JOB 

You are responsible for leading the Business Strategy Team in aligning and optimizing Spinco’s IT services with MSF’s organizational business objectives through effective governance, strategic planning, and continuous improvement.

This role bridges business needs with IT capabilities to ensure optimal value delivery across the organization in accordance with best practices.

As part of the Spinco Coordination team you work together with the Head and other Spinco Coordinators on alignment with and coordination between the Business Strategy Team and other Spinco teams.

IV. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

. Strategic Leadership: Develop in coordination with multiple stakeholders IT strategies that directly support the organizational business objectives of MSF and drive digital transformation initiatives.

. Business Partnership & Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strategic relationships with management leadership and stakeholders, serving as a trusted advisor who understands business needs and translates them into technology solutions.

. Architecture Management: Oversee the development and maintenance of enterprise architecture frameworks that align with and enable business strategy.

. Business Analysis: Direct the identification, analysis, and documentation of business requirements and their translation into functional specifications for IT services.

. Service Configuration Management: Ensure proper documentation and management of all service components, their relationships, and configuration items.

. Relationship Management: Establish and maintain service level agreements, communication protocols, and feedback mechanisms between IT and business units.

. Measurement & Reporting: Develop and maintain performance metrics and executive-level reporting that demonstrate IT's contribution to business outcomes.

. Continual Improvement: Identify and implement service improvement opportunities based on stakeholder feedback and performance metrics and lead on the agile development methodology.

. Team Leadership: Provide leadership, mentorship, and professional development to the Business Strategy Team while promoting a culture of service excellence.

Functionally and hierarchically supervises the Spinco Business Strategy Team (at present including this position 4 people, 3.4 FTE)

NOTE: all team members work in matrix also with the IT Technical Team and occasionally on projects. Functional management of team members in those cases shifts accordingly.
