Work LocationHome country Expected duration1/5/2025 - 15/1/2026 Duties and ResponsibilitiesOHCHRโs Human Rights and Disability Unit will develop a series of foundational documents on the application of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGP) under the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) to human support service providers operating in the care and support sector. These documents will cover critical areas such as the application of the UNGP within the disability rights framework, the transition from institutional to community-based support models, legal capacity and decision-making autonomy, policy barriers and regulatory challenges, human rights risks in service provision, due diligence requirements, accountability mechanisms, and strategic measures to ensure compliance with human rights standards. The foundational documents will provide structured guidance for service providers, policymakers, and stakeholders to foster rights-based, inclusive, and high-quality support services for persons with disabilities. The findings and products will be presented at the United Nations Forum on Business and Human Rights. The Project Coordinator will oversee project implementation, managing consultants, ensuring deadlines are met, and organizing stakeholder consultations. They will provide substantive support, coordinate with the Steering Committee, and facilitate the dissemination meeting at the UN Forum on Business and Human Rights. They will also ensure reporting, risk management, and alignment with project objectives. Qualifications/special skillsAdvanced degree in Economics, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Law or other disciplines related to Public Policy 5 years of progressively gained experience in project coordination, research, drafting of documents, and policy analysis on disability rights is required.
