Background
ย Diversity, Equity and Inclusion are core principles at UNDP:ย we value diversity as an expression of the multiplicity of nations and cultures where we operate, we foster inclusion as a way of ensuring all personnel are empowered to contribute to our mission, and we ensure equity and fairness in all our actions. Taking a โleave no one behindโ approach to our diversity efforts means increasing representation of underserved populations. People who identify as belonging to marginalized or excluded populations are strongly encouraged to apply. Learn more about working at UNDP including our values and inspiring stories.
ย UNDP does not tolerate sexual exploitation and abuse, any kind of harassment, including sexual harassment, and discrimination. All selected candidates will, therefore, undergo rigorous reference and background checks. ย
UNDP Office has organized internship programme to provide a framework by which students from diverse academic backgrounds may be assigned to UNDP offices, where their educational experience can be enhanced through practical work assignments as well providing an opportunity to make substantive contributions to an officeโs work. This internship specifically offers students a unique opportunity to learn about sustainable youth empowerment, development finance, aid effectiveness, donor relations, and monitoring and evaluation of development programs. Additionally, interns will explore topics such as gender, capacity building, and campaign development. Key areas of focus will include providing administrative support, data analysis, communication, and reporting. This program aims to equip students with practical skills and knowledge across these critical areas.
UNDP is supporting government and partners to find innovative solutions to finance the SDGs. UNDP Indonesia established the Innovative Finance Lab (IFLab) in 2018, now known as the Financing for Development (FfD) Unit, serves as a collaborative platform dedicated to exploring innovative financing solutions for sustainable development. With a strong emphasis on creativity, collaboration, and impact, FfD bridges the gap between public, private, and philanthropic capital to support high-impact projects that advance environmental sustainability, social equity, and economic resilience. Through partnerships and cutting-edge financial mechanisms, FfD seeks to unlock new funding opportunities that drive meaningful change. FfD focuses on seven different but interrelated workstreams, namely Thematic Bonds, Impact Investing, Climate Finance, Faith Based Finance, Integrated National Financing Framework (INFF), Youth Empowerment, and De-risking and Access to Finance.
In 2022, the Youth Empowerment Project in Asia and the Pacific (YEP-AP) was approved as a regional programme in the Asia-Pacific region. It aims to invest in and empower young people across the region, to accelerate the implementation of SDGs. YEP-AP believes that youth can be leaders who create inclusive and equitable societies free of discrimination and can make a positive difference by taking on the challenges through social innovation, mobilising their peers and communities, and creating adaptive and innovative solutions. YEP-AP focuses on youth political, social, and economic empowerment by building the capacities of young people and key stakeholders and creating safe, inclusive, and enabling environments for youth participation and civic engagement, especially for women and marginalised ย groups. YEP-AP in Indonesia plans to deliver selected outputs and activities based on the regional program document.
