Assignment Summary:ย
Unitaid is a global health organization that saves lives by making new health products available and affordable for people in low- and middle-income countries. Unitaid works with partners to identify innovative treatments, tests and tools, help tackle the market barriers that are holding them back, and get them to the people who need them most โ fast. Since Unitaid was created in 2006, the organization has unlocked access to more than 100 groundbreaking health products to help address the worldโs biggest health challenges, including HIV, TB and malaria; womenโs and childrenโs health; and pandemic prevention, preparedness and response. Every year, more than 300 million people benefit from the products Unitaid has helped roll out. Unitaid is hosted by the World Health Organization.
Partnership lies at the center of Unitaidโs 2023-2027 Strategy and is one of its three strategic objectives. Fostering inclusive and demand-driven partnerships for innovation aims to:

Unitaidโs Partnerships team was established in mid-2024 as a 3-person team to pursue the above aims.ย
The post will support the Unitaid Partnerships team in the conduction of activities towards its Annual Roadmap. In particular the post holder will support the Country Engagement Manager in implementation of actions aimed at strengthening processes and engagement of LMIC stakeholders across Unitaidโs activities.
As a member of the broader partnerships team the JPO will also support the team (including Team Lead and CCSE Advisor) in key priorities including ย developing a strong partnership team within Unitaid and systematizing, tracking, and ensuring the availability of data/information and improving cooperation with key country, regional and global partners.
Duties, Responsibilities and Output expectations Systematize and strengthen country engagement across the Secretariatย
- Facilitate meetings with Unitaid Secretariat colleagues, Executive Board delegations and external partners to support stronger engagement with LMIC stakeholders in Unitaid grants and aligned initiatives.
- Support development of Guide of Good Practice for country engagement throughout operating model
- Conduct regular mapping of LMIC engagement and opportunities and assess country engagement for specific countries and across themes Strengthen engagement with country stakeholders on Unitaid work
- Support dialogue and exchange with LMIC stakeholders including governmental and non-governmental actors to support information gathering and planning and implementation of initiatives to increase Unitaid responsiveness to country needs including development of ย Memorandum of Agreement /Workplans with priority countries
- Support planning and conduction of opportunity scoping country needs engagement through site-visits, events and partner forums Improve strategies and activities to raise Unitaidโs external profile and visibility
- Ensure availability of up-to-date, comprehensive, and quality country briefs for internal and external use
- Work with colleagues including Project Teams/ Communications Team and external partners to ensure Unitaid Partnerships and country work is visible and widely communicated
PART II: CANDIDATE PROFILE
Qualifications and Experience:
Education:
Minimum:
Advanced university degree (Masterโs degree or equivalent) in a relevant area such as; social science, health science, public health, international development or sustainable development.
Work experience:
Minimum:
At least two yearsโ experience in project implementation in health or development projects.ย
Experience organizing and coordinating meetings and events.
Desirable:
Experience in engaging on co-creation work, project implementation or partnership building with LMIC governments, especially in relation to public health.ย
In-country experience in implementing projects or managing partnerships, particularly in regions across the Global South.
Knowledge in communicable diseases, including HIV, TB, and Malaria, as well as expertise in womenโs and childrenโs health and global health emergencies, particularly in low-income country settings.
Skills required for the assignment:
Minimum:
- Fluency in oral and written English is essential, with good writing and presentation skills.ย
Desirable:
- Knowledge of French language is an advantage.ย

ANNEX 1 Conditions of Eligibility (Requirements by the Donor)

- TOEFL โHome Editionโ score is accepted while โMyBest Scoresโ are not acceptedย
- IELTS General Training and Academic test are both acceptedย
- Test scores are valid for 2 years after the test dateย
e) Not older than 32 years of age as of 31st December, 2025 (born after 1st January, 1993). The maximum age limit for those who served in the military will be extended accordingly: one year will be extended for those who served for less than one year; two years will be extended for those who served for more than one year and less than two years; three years will be extended for those who served for two years or more.ย
f) Male applicants shall have completed the Korean military service or be exempted from it. Those who will be discharged from military service in the year of the application may also apply.
g) Applicants can apply for a maximum of two JPO positions sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea during the year of application.ย
