Mission and objectivesThe United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme contributes to peace and development through volunteerism worldwide. We work with partners to integrate qualified, highly motivated and well supported UN Volunteers into development programming and promote the value and global recognition of volunteerism. UNV is administered by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and reports to the UNDP/UNFPA/UNOPS Executive Board.
ContextThe United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme promotes volunteerism to support peace and development worldwide. In Ukraine, UNV works closely with UN agencies and partners to mobilize skilled individuals who can contribute their time and expertise to meaningful causes. To strengthen this work, we are looking for an Online Volunteer to support research and outreach activities related to volunteer engagement.
Task DescriptionThe Online Volunteer will contribute to strengthening volunteer engagement by: - Identifying opportunities and potential volunteers for upcoming events and activities. - Reaching out to volunteers and maintaining contact lists. - Supporting the dissemination of information about volunteering opportunities. - Drafting short communication texts (e.g. announcements, invitations, outreach messages). - Conducting online research to gather relevant information on volunteer mobilization and best practices. This role will provide the Online Volunteer with an opportunity to gain experience in international volunteer coordination, outreach, and communications, while directly supporting the UN’s mission in Ukraine.
