ContextThis assignment is part of a UNDP ยซEU4Recovery โ Empowering Communities in Ukraineยป (EU4Recovery) project, which will ensure a multiplier effect by expanding key interventions at subnational level. EU4Recovery interventions are grouped under the following key objectives: - Target communities have increased access to quality public services that respond to the needs of all population groups, with a particular focus on the most vulnerable. - Community security is enhanced, and the social fabric is maintained in project target areas. The Ministry for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine (hereafter โ the Ministry) has identified the need to support the โShoulder to Shoulderโ initiative - a national project aimed at uniting Ukraineโs rear and central territorial communities with the frontline territorial communities. Its primary goal is to support and restore frontline territorial communities, where a significant portion of critical infrastructure has been severely damaged or destroyed. The project embodies the solidarity of people from across the nation, the cohesion of Ukrainian territorial communities, and the unity of the country. In support of this effort, UNDP is seeking a Visual Design Expert. This expert will bring not only technical design skills but also a deep understanding of how visual communications can strengthen inter-municipal collaboration, drive recovery planning, and promote inclusive governance.
Task Description- Develop a comprehensive visual identity for the project, including a cohesive logo, color palette, typography, and graphic elements that effectively convey the projectโs core values and strategic objectives. - Design and produce a wide range of high-quality visual materials for promotional campaigns, information events, and digital outreach, ensuring that these materials resonate with key audiences and stakeholders. - Create infographics and dynamic video animations that clearly communicate the projectโs outcomes, highlight success stories, and promote the projectโs broader vision and mission. - Ensure that all visual materials are fully aligned with the projectโs key messages and narrative, reinforcing the themes of unity, recovery, and community resilience. - Collaborate closely with project partners and stakeholders to gather input, measure the effectiveness of visual elements, and continuously refine designs based on feedback and evolving needs. - Support the projectโs strategic communication efforts by contributing to the development of a consistent visual language that strengthens the projectโs credibility, visibility, and impact. - Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor and UNDP Ukraine Leadership.

Living conditions and remarksAs it is a national UN Volunteer's assignment, the volunteer shall organize his/her accommodation by themselves. Entitlements of National UN Volunteer Expert (Kyiv Duty Station). This is a full-time assignment. The contract lasts for the period indicated in the vacancy with possibility of extensions subject to availability of funding, operational necessity and satisfactory performance. However, there is no expectation of renewal of the assignment. Allowances: โข Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA): A Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) 2,076 USD (equivalent in UAH) is provided monthly to cover housing, utilities, and normal cost of living expenses. This includes Well-Being Differentials for the period while the ICSC applies hardship classification to duty stations in Ukraine as โEโ. โข USD 400 entry lump sum, one-time payment. โข USD 101.78 exit allowance (paid on successful completion of the assignment) for each month served, paid on completion of contract. Medical and life insurance: โข The UN Volunteer and eligible PFU dependents will receive UNV provided medical insurance coverage. Coverage for UN Volunteers begins from the Commencement of Service and normally ceases one month after the last day of the UN Volunteer Contract date. โข Life Insurance: UN Volunteers are covered by life insurance for the duration of the UN Volunteer assignment. If a UN Volunteer dies during the UN Volunteer assignment, the eligible designated beneficiaries will be entitled to receive a life insurance lump sum. Leave entitlements: โข Annual leave: UN Volunteers accrue an entitlement to 2.5 days of Annual Leave per completed month of the UN Volunteer assignment. Unused accrued Annual Leave up to a maximum of 30 days is carried over in case of a contract extension within the same UN Volunteer assignment. Unused accrued Annual Leave may not be carried over in case of reassignment or a new assignment. โข Learning leave: Subject to supervisor approval and exigencies of service, UN Volunteers may request up to ten working days of Learning Leave per consecutive 12 months of the UN Volunteer assignment, starting with the Commencement of Service date, provided the Learning Leave is used within the contract period. โข Certified Sick Leave: UN Volunteers are entitled to up to 30 days of certified sick leave based on a 12-month cycle. This amount is reset every 12-month cycle. โข Uncertified Sick Leave: UN Volunteers receive seven days of uncertified sick leave working days in a calendar year.
